Changes to the Simm Awards

Posted on 05/31/2016 @ 6:33am by Captain Cornelius Harrington

Hay Deep Spacers,

After a discussion with the Command Team we felt it prudent to make a few changes to the awards system here on Deep Space 7. These changes will go into effect next month, starting June 1st.

First off the dreaded Crew Choice. This award hasn't really taken off as we would like; and it doesn't make sense to us to hand out a crew award when only a few people vote. So this award will be changed to the "Command Staff Ribbon of Appreciation." This award will be given out monthly to the crew member who really stood out in game. It will be voted on by the members of the Command Staff and announced at the start of each month for the previous time-frame. There will be some requirements, for example you must have met the posting requirements in order to be eligible. It is all really basic, but this will give the Command Team the ability to recognize those players who really are striving to make DS7 a great place to game. Other areas like quality of work, overall involvement, a team work (getting involved with other players) will all be taken into account as the Command Team discusses this award.

Next the Captain's Personal Merit. As we are changing the CCA award it no longer seems prudent to given this award out monthly; as both awards are generally the same thing. So we will be discontinuing this award for the time being until it can be reworked to fit into the new structure.

Anyways I hope this is clear if you don't understand feel free to email me and I will talk at greater length. Again as some people voted this month these changes won't take place till next month. So the new award will be given out at the end of June, start of July.

On behalf of the Command Team,
Captain Harrington, Commander Neydani, and Lieutenant Commander Markell
