Command Changes

Posted on 09/04/2017 @ 3:20pm by Captain Cornelius Harrington

Well today I come to you with a heavy heart, as you all know the world of simming is an ever-changing game. Players come, they join, and at times they leave. While we hate to see people leave we understand that it is part of the game we all enjoy. Today, our XO has turned in his resignation for our simm. Chris, aka Valoru, joined our game at a time when we needed his help and I am very grateful for his assistance.

However, his role within the Fleet Council is a very demanding position and his time is just spread too thin. With our whole Fleet rebranding, a new website, and lots of ongoing changes within our fleet Chris just isn’t able to give the role the time it needs. So, I have accepted his resignation and I wish him all the best. But don’t worry, he will still be around from time to time, and we will still continue to see his presence within the Fleet (can’t get rid of him that easily).

On a personal note, I want to thank Chris for his help both on the simm, and through his position within the Fleet. I know that being on the Fleet Council takes up a lot of time and we all appreciate the work you have done. Best of luck with the Fleet Services Department and with your own game. I will continue to keep the Commander on the manifest for a while, in the Mission Advisor post so he can c wrap up his own storylines. On that note, I am going to “retcon“ small section of our storyline so we don’t have to explain the Commander’s coming and going. Instead the character, Commander Valoru Ch'Arath, will have been offered the Mission Advisor role and as only serving as a temporary XO for this mission. That way a new XO can be brought in without having to go through a bunch of hoops.

So now onto other news, after giving it some thought and discussing changes with a few trusted Advisors I have offered the Executive Officer position to our newest player Nick, aka Lt. Commander Valentine. Nick is an experienced player, having known him for a very long time I know him to be very energetic, social, and active. I think he will make an excellent XO for this simm. I realize this will keep our Security Department open, once again, so I will start recruiting for that role ASAP.

So please take a moment to thank Chris (Cmdr. Valoru) for his service to the simm and our fleet. Also to congrats Nick on his new position.

Best of luck to you both.

Capt. Harrington

Folk, I just wanted to say that while my stay here was a short one, it was very fun and you guys have a great energy and chemistry going on. I hope you can keep moving and keep writing and keep doing these adventures together, as this ship has some potential to continue its strength.

I am sorry for any lag, and for not being able to continue. Again, great crew and great people. I am just swamped with OF stuff and many other things in life. I am glad I got to help Jakers a bit, and perhaps bring a bit of energy as well.

So thank you, and keep on writing!
