New Class, New Ship

Greetings Crew,

As many of you know there has been a lot of talk recently about class changes, several of you have brought it up in Discord. The discussions got to the point that a poll was created to determine what the crew wanted. And the results were interesting.

Many of you heard in discord that the Century Class was removed from the poll due to things happening within the fleet. While as a Commanding Officer I can’t discuss this, the changes being made to this class would have impacted everyone’s ability to participate. So, the Command Team when back to the drawing board. From you all we learned that most of you wanted sleek, shiny, and new. Therefore, with the majority wanting this, we ruled out the Excal and Galaxy. While nice ships, they didn’t fit the bill.

This left us with the Station, Luna, and Sovereign. We opted to rule out the station, as that wasn’t anyone’s 1st or 2nd choice and several had strong feelings about not moving to a station. This left the Luna and the Sovereign. Both really goods ships, they are sleek, sexy, and can be played off as new and fresh. Our next step was to look at the names available for each class, and well that made up our minds. We put our heads together and opted for .. are you ready?

Our new ship will be the USS Norgura, Sovereign Class

The name has a strong tie to the Federation and it is a good well-rounded class for the crew to move on with. Plus, it has room for Shepard, so we get to keep our Marine that we love so much (awwww) and Vaii (crickets).

Now it is important to note this change will take time and planning. We will make this as realistic as possible. In the mean time I really want everyone to be thinking about their Departments. What can you do with your new bigger departments? What can you do differently? How will this effect you and your crew? How will you be able to get your department involved with the sovereign class? Etc.

Once the change takes place within the fleet, I will have to make some changes to our site it is just the way things are. But keep in mind.. in game we will be on the Roanoke until this plays out. Disclaimer time “Please excuse the dust while we transition.” It is going to be confusing, but we will try to keep things as simple as possible.
