History

Personal History Skol was not like most Vulcans as he was born on Earth. His father was a prolific doctor in London England and was used at many facilities around the city. Skol was raised in human culture but was still being taught the Vulcan doctrines from his father. It made his childhood a very confusing time, but he realized because he wasn’t raised on Vulcan that he wasn’t ever going to truly be Vulcan.

Skol also struggled with never seeing his mother who was a Marine ins Starfleet and a human giving him the mixed emotions that always caused issues between him and his father. Skol loved his mother but the extended time of not seeing her made his love a difficult thing to express. Skol grew up being an introvert in school not making friends but instead spending time learning what he could about his mother’s deployments. He never was able to find much, but it never stopped him from trying.

Then the event that changed the course of Skols life happened in the blink of an eye. His mother was killed, but the information of how was withheld from the family. Skol’s dad went into a deep depression and turned to alcohol as a comfort. Over the next few years, Skol’s life changed with his father losing his job they struggled to make ends meet. Skol decided he was going to join the marines and figure out what happened to his mother.

At the age of 18 without his father caring or cheering him he enlisted to attend the four-year Starfleet Marine Corps Service Academy in Annapolis. The Academy taught Skol there was a tight-knit group that cared about him even if his father did not. Those four years were some of the most rewarding for Skol as he learned discipline and how to take care of himself while making sure the needs of others continued to always remain part of his life. The Academy would always hold a special place in his heart, but when those four years ended he knew that he was far from completing his training.

Skol tried to find out anything about his mother at that time but was always told that no one knew what had happened to her. This drove Skol even harder as he began the 28 weeks of basic at Camp LeJeuene with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.

Skol quickly became well known in basic for his logical, but human way of handling tactics and leadership. His fellow classmates came to admire Skol and many of them were close friends with him, which was not something he had experienced in his younger years. He knew that he needed a specialization for his specialty school and with a fire burning to find the truth he decided to apply for the Criminal Investigations Division (CID). The job was not for the faint of heart, but Skol had decided he would be stronger than his father and he would make his mother proud.

After the 28 weeks of basic Skol was then taken straight into the specialist classes learning the many facets of CID including law enforcement training, mixed with counterintelligence and intelligence training. These classes really showed where Skol shined and he exceeded the expectations of his instructors showing a real gift in the matter. He told them the reasoning and they acted the same as everyone else. It continued to fuel his fire to eventually find out what happened. The classes seemed to fly by making the school end quicker than he would have expected. Upon graduation, he was assigned to the CID on Earth Spacedock. Skol was immediately thrust into his first case of murder of a supply sergeant. Skol immediately gathered suspects and all evidence to try and deduce why the sergeant had been killed. CID cases are not always quick and this one took over a year of constant investigation, which yielded the killer being another supply officer who had been jealous of the sergeant’s promotion and the fact that they were constantly picked on by the sergeant. After many hours of reading files, Skol realized that the man had mental health issues and over the years even after seeking help it didn’t change the way he felt. He was a loose cannon and he had struck, but in the end, justice was served and he was arrested for the murder of the sergeant.

Skol spent the next four years reviewing case after case some bigger than others and some that were a small few-week case. This coupled with the exceptional work he had performed he was promoted to a 1st Lieutenant and moved to Annapolis as part of the CID at the request of the academy commander.

The cases he would encounter over the next three years were some of the most challenging of his short career. The students were troublesome and Skol knew just how much after the amount of casework on his desk. He had been approached by a cadet that another cadet was sending secrets of the Academy to the Cardassians. This case brought some severe repercussions for the Academy and made Skol dig deep into Intelligence for the case. Many days of digging through encrypted files and transmissions determined the student was a Cardassian spy. Late one night Skol was heading back to his quarters when he was shot at by a disruptor, which he dodged and got in cover hearing the voice of the spy. Skol tried hard to talk the spy down from his current actions, but during this time he was inching closer to get a good stun shot on the spy. In the end, the spy was stunned but the amount of information he had transferred would take time for the Academy to try and rework.

Skol was promoted to Captain after the case ended and he was asked to join the elite Kingsman on Poisiedon Station due to the expansion of the unit. Skol was still working towards finding out the truth of his mother while trying to forget his father who died only weeks before with not a single communication to Skol after leaving for the Academy. Skol held bitterness towards his father and it would take time for that to go away.
