Physical Description		Hotaru could be classified as beautiful, due to her combined heritage of Japanese, French and Betazoid blood. Her hair reaches just below her shoulder blades. At one time it reached to mid thigh. When on duty in Star Fleet, she has it braided doubled up or placed into a bun. She adds a splash of color several streaks of orange red and yellow, like that of flames. She does change the color when needed and even goes with her hair just normal black. She walks with catlike grace, her steps certain and confident.

Personality & Traits

General Overview		Her demeanor is fairly pleasant, outgoing and can be somewhat of a rogue. She is persistent, can be fairly stubborn. She is a bit adventurous, never afraid of a challenge. She can be a bit rough around the edges.At one point she can eat like a genteel lady and at other times, she's not against grabbing a chicken leg or a piece of meat and eat it with her fingers. She gets a laugh at the shocked expressions of people who thought she's always prim and proper. A social chameleon. She is both empathic and telepathic and when it comes to using those abilities she keeps a firm rein on them having discipline and not intruding into anyone else's thought unless it is deemed necessary. Can be mischievous.

Ambitions		Hotaru's ambitions change from time to time, it all depends on where she is in life. She at one time wanted to be married but that didn't happen. Life sent her a curveball. She does have an ambition to hunt down the man, or group which killed her one time captain, Commander Anna Tuttle, and destroy them one by one. At this time, no one has been able to dissuade her or convince her from hunting these people down.
Hobbies & Interests		Hotaru has an avid interest and knowledge of Blades, throwing spikes, throwing stars. Her martial arts is a mixture of various styles. She loves to watch and observe people. She loves to play games, holo novel styles, roleplaying games, chess and go. Acrobatics, dancing and gymnastics. She loves the theater, plays the flute, read books and poetry. And loves old movies. She knows Acupressure, Shiatzu, reflexology. She is also knowledgeable in anatomy and physiology. Also interested in poisons, and have knowledge of them as well. History

Personal History		Hotaru comes from an eclectic style background, her family is of a long line of intelligence gatherers, from either side of the law. Pirates, thieves, spies, law enforcement and detectives, even a rumor mentioning of Tokyo Rose being amongst her bloodline, on her mother's side. Her mother is French and Japanese, her father Betazoid. From when she was young, her mother taught her family, the martial arts of ninjutsu. The other children after a few years, lost their interest in that style of martial arts, Hotaru on the other hand was eager to learn as much as she could. 2383 When Hortaru was 18, she joined Star Fleet and went into the intelligence department. Of which she took to like a duck does to water. She seemed to be in her realm, probably due to her upbringing. Hotaru was a bit of a rascal when not attending classes, she was respectful to her superior though at times she could be termed somewhat cheeky, but she didn't do it disrespectfully. When Hotaru graduated from the academy in 2387 and passed her cadet cruise, she was made an ensign. 2387 After her graduation she was approached by intelligence to go deep under cover and infiltrate a pirate crew, this was in order to keep tabs on their actions out in the Alpha Quadrant. Hotaru agreed, and she was able to utilize her skills and talents to do so. As time went by with her undercover word, through cunning and cleverness, Hotaru was able to get to where she was the captain's woman. This put her in the prime position to get even more vital information about this pirate crews actions and habits and the places of their hideout. 2391 The beginning of that year was when the pirate ship Silver Streak, that Hotaru was on, was boarded by the USS Constellation. She was taken into custody by the Marines, having been on the bridge when they breached it. When Hotaru came too, after being hit by heavy stun, the captain discovered that she was part of Star Fleet Intelligence and that Star Fleet was rather pleased to have her found, as that pirate ship was rather elusive. In order for them to get hold of the hidden plans Hotaru had to reprise her role as being the captain's woman, the Captain waking up back on his ship. He was fooled into thinking he and Hotaru had escaped capture. Hotaru was able to get the information from the captain. Once that was dealt with, the captain was taken into custody and incarcerated. The USS Constellation went to the hide out and did a burned earth on the asteroid hideout the pirates were at, destroying that base. Afterwards, Hotaru was officially made a part of the crew on the USS Constellation, she was raised to LTjg and became the Chief of Intelligence. 2391-2393 Two years passed, Hotaru stayed on becoming friends with the crew, having a couple of romantic entanglements. The former captain left, the XO, Commander Anna Tuttle became Captain. Anna and Hotaru had adopted each other as sisters of the heart, a phrase the both of them had come up with. Anna never had siblings. A fateful day happened, while on a diplomatic mission, Commander Anna Tuttle was killed and others severely injured. It was during a dinner that should have been a celebration of a peace treaty being signed that a warring faction who favored war attacked. The insurgents were dealt with, and a crew saddened by the death of Commander Tuttle made their way back to Earth as commanded by Admiral Whitman to deliver the body of Anna home. Hotaru was blaming herself for the death of Anna, as her information had checked out as to it being safe for them to go there. No sign of civil unrest. Later on she found out that they had all been played. Hotaru took a months leave to reconnect with her family who were pleased to find out that their oldest daughter was alife and well. When it was over Hotaru was assigned to the New Exploration Command and joined the crew there under the command of now Rear Admiral Cara Letsul. It was also there she met Ensign Michael Hawkins. He managed to coax Hotaru out of her shell of grief and remorse from the death of Anna Tuttle. She grew to love him, as he seemed to heal her of her inner pain and regrets. They were set to get married the wedding was all set and then, she got an assignment from Intelligence, They needed her services once more. She left him at the altar, disappearing for two years. 2396 Hotaru resurfaced into Michael's life to see how he was doing. She reconnected with him, having found him via a firefly pin she had given to him during their romance. She found that Michael forgave her for disappearing on him in the past. Also Hotaru had also come back from checking on Rear Admiral Cara Letsul. Admiral Letsul and Hotaru had kept in touch with each other from time to time to pass on information that Hotaru had found out. One day Hotaru found out that Cara had left and she found the hidden information that the former commander of the NEC had left, letting Hotaru know where she would be at and the planned route she would be taking. Hotaru was planning on following the trail Cara left behind, which she did.
