History

Personal History		Born on 28 May 2375 in Kendra Valley, Bajor, young Jena grew up a Starfleet brat. As far as she was concerned her parents were Coln Tela and Peter Vaughn, both Starfleet Officers. She was an inquisitive and happy child, always asking questions about everything and anything. The man whom she called “daddy” was killed in a skirmish with the Romulans when Jena was 10 and from then on it was just Jena and her mother. A natural athlete and leader, Jena was selected as team captain of her high school soccer team. Nevertheless, her talents do not end on the soccer field; she also excelled in languages and history. She graduated with top honors and commendations. Jena’s mother joined the prophets when Jena was 14. While going through her mother’s belongings, Jena found a picture, a diary entry, and a PADD containing information on her true father- Jason Beauvoir. Apparently he and Tela had begun a romantic relationship in the Academy. Tela transferred upon receiving news of her pregnancy and never informed Beauvoir that she was pregnant with his child. Tela and Jason broke off their relationship soon after her transfer and Tela moved on to marry Peter Vaughn upon Jena’s birth. Fourteen years later, Jena found herself at Beauvoir’s doorstep seeking the only family she had left. The events that led to the discovery or her true parentage have had lasting effects on Jena. While she maintains her naturally inquisitive and adventurous spirit, it is now tempered with fear and mistrust. She is skeptical of everyone and is hesitant to invest too many emotions into anyone for fear that they would abandon her just as her mother, step-father, and father did. She hides these fears under false bravado. She is still uncertain whether or not she likes her father, but they seem to get along relatively well given the circumstances.
