PREMISE

The year is 2397. In the aftermath of the Cardassian War, the relationship between Cardassia and the Federation has fundamentally shifted. Cardassia rebuilds as the Federation deploys Starfleet to serve and protect Cardassia and its colonies. Along with this rebuilding, came The New Maquis, and the Obsidian Order. These groups sought to destroy the peace in the sector.

Captain Tyler Malbrooke and the crew of the USS Pioneer have spent the past two years risking life and limb for this peace. They have travelled through time and back again. They have fought and bled for the preservation of their home, Empok Nor. Ultimately, the Pioneer emerged victorious. The Obsidian Order has fallen and the New Maquis has all but disbanded. That is when the new threat to Starfleet arose.

An old enemy begins to rumble. For quite some time the thought was that, the Romulans were no longer a threat. Since the Hobus star exploded the Romulan, empire has been in shambles. However, now they work on something they call the artifact, now they want to talk and now they come to the Federation open handed and for peace. What has changed? That is what the Pioneer is tasked with finding out.

This intrepid crew will learn all they can about the oldest and deadliest of enemies. The Pioneer finds itself in a battle between duty and honor. Exploration built the Pioneer, and molded the crew. However, the Federation and Starfleet wish to become more isolated to pull in on itself. This crew will have to prove to everyone what it means to seek out new lives, and civilizations. In short, their mission echoes their dedication plaque.

"USS Pioneer, To Strive, To Seek, To Find, and Not To Yield."
The ship is a testbed for merging Starfleet assets with Marine assets. To achieve this goal Starfleet Marine personnel was chosen to serve within the command structure of the ship. This is most notable with the Executive Officer. Starfleet hopes that this program will succeed and if so it will be instituted on many vessels.

THE CREW

Tyler1.png
Captain Tyler Malbrooke, 37, Commanding Officer

Tyler is extremely charismatic but he keeps his charisma in check and likes to play the stoic gruff officer. He prefers morality over staying strict with rules. He often will bend general orders if morality deems it worthy. Tyler is a compassionate man, oftentimes not imposing punishment if it is needed. He is fiercely protective of his crew and views them as members of his family. Tyler is a natural leader, however, he likes to lead by committee. His leadership style is to fly by the seat of your pants.

Tremble111.png
Major Cornelius Tremble, 39, Executive Officer, Commanding Officer SFMC The Cure

Cornelius is a no-nonsense, hard charging Marine. Every life that he's responsible for is precious. Every life pitted against he, his Marines and the Fleet is negotiable. He negotiates well.

rowena.png
Lieutenant Rowena McGowen, 30, Chief Intelligence Officer, Second Officer

Rowena is an overall friendly person. She is usually quiet and observant, but don't mistake her quietness for shyness. She is not afraid to speak her mind.

Barr.png
Master Sergeant Lachlan Barr, 35, Chief of the Boat

Lachlan used to be a hard headed marine. His job was to follow orders, do as he was told and protect himself and his fellow marines. Over the years he has mellowed a little and saw scope for more. He still believes in the core of what the marines stand for but believes working with the Fleet more openly is better for a long-term solution. He loves his stripes and feels he will never take them off. He lives for his brothers and sisters and would do anything to protect them, protect anyone.

paul2.png
Lieutenant Paul Michael, 28, Chief Flight Control Officer

Paul is very much like most pilots in the fleet. That is to say he thinks he is the best of the best of the best. However, this pilot can back that claim up. His piloting has saved everyone on the ship numerous times and there is no one that Captain Malbrooke would rather have flying his ship.

larim.png
Lieutenant Commander Larim Myles, 32, Chief Security & Tactical Officer

Socialble individual. Honest to a fault, sometimes making getting friends hard. Expects honesty in return. Sometimes a little quirky, finding lame jokes in the weirdest of situations. At work he doesn't take any crap though.

Jasol.png
Lieutenant Junior Grade Ja'sol H'ros, 30, Assistant Chief Security & Tactical Officer

Generally easy going, but is a hard worker and pulls his fair share and is willing to help others. He is always a gentleman to the ladies and will always help a woman in distress unless it will jeopardize lives or a mission. The needs of the many outweight the needs of the few afterall. Ja'sol makes friends easily and can fit into almost any social circle.

Elen1.png
Lieutenant Elen Diari, 32, Chief Engineering Officer

Major part of Elen's history happened seven years ago, whilst on board the USS Jersey, an Excelsior class ship doing a survey mission near the galactic edge of the alpha quadrant. The ship entered a temporal anomaly where it spent, by our calendars two weeks, but by ship time, twenty five years and as such Elen lived her life, and worked her way up to Lt. Commander, and had three children, which then disappeared and "reset" when the ship left the anomaly. She still has memories of those twenty-five years, although has had extensive help to overcome the resulting temporal trauma. This has left Elen with a certain, some would say, lax attitude to the idea of chain of command. Those who have tried to command her, would say she’s the definition of Bolshie,(deliberately combative or uncooperative) as she feels things like rules, procedures and the like are futile if time can just reset itself, so why go through the effort of following them?

Alyssa.png
Lieutenant Alyssa Maren, 32, Chief Science Officer

Alyssa is generally warm and friendly. She's a tactile person who likes to touch people when she talks to them and will often hug her friends and family. She genuinely cares about others and does what she can to make her work environment a pleasant one. She loves music and has been known to play it in the lab if she has to work late. She prefers classic rock from the late 20th century Earth when she can. However, there are times when she's in a more contemplative mood and listens to classical music. Growing up, she had a series of pets, many of them strays she adopted. She had a pet monkey that traveled with her for several years and spent time in the arboretum when the botanist allowed it. In many ways he was more like a child than a pet. While she does not have a pet at the moment, she is prone to adopting strays.

Hermia11.png
Lieutenant Commander Hermia O'Rourke, 36, Chief Medical Officer

Hermia often has trouble reconciling her Marine upbringing with her medical training. She is an exceptional diagnostic surgeon, with a great bedside manner. She went against her father's wishes by becoming a 'Fleet doctor, but studied combat medicine and completed Marine Basic Training , to make him happy. Although she tends to follow the rules, her loyalty to her crew or the needs of her patients sometimes trump her adherence to the regs. Growing up on Earth she was teased about her mixed parentage. Not wanting to appear different or 'alien', she began wearing coloured contacts to hide her Betazoid eyes. A practice she continues to this day. Hermia deals with her anger, by working. She doesn't lash out, instead she calmly and meticulously plan revenge against those who wrong her. The one exception is her father, which she actively lashes out at.

lunara.png
Lieutenant Junior Grade Lunara Hol, 26, Chief Counselor

Ever cheerful, Lunara is the third host to the Hol symbiont. A bit ditzy at times, but very reliable. She has the same bright energy as her first host, Jalen, bordering on hyperactivity when she gets excited about something. She also inherited his intense curiosity, which causes her to come across as nosy at times. However, she also tends to act much more modestly and cautiously than either of her previous hosts. Perim Hol, the second host, had an extremely strong and indomitable spirit which Lunara tries to draw on. She developed a habit of crossing her arms over her abdomen after she was joined. She’s normally bright, chipper, and compassionate, however she’s prone to bouts of melancholy and wistfulness when remembering the past and friends that are no longer with her. She inherited memories of close friends who often faced death together, then only to learn they've been dead for decades and she's never met them. Currently she's a bit distant, as she doesn't want to go through the pain of losing most of her close friends to old age again. Perhaps fitting for a counselor, she can be driven by emotions, perhaps too much, as they can sometimes cloud her judgement. She can be a bit of a teasing flirt, a trait inherited from her first host, Jalen. However, she usually doesn't mean anything by it. She typically dresses in more "boyish" clothes, preferring shorts to skirts and shoes to heels. Fully aware of what it's like to be on the other side of the counselor's desk, she tries to make regular checkups as painless as she can for other crewmembers. This is not to say she will rubber stamp her seal of approval on everything, but she certainly won't grill them more than she needs to.

Carachar.png
First Lieutenant Edmund Merrick, 35, Executive Officer SFMC The Cure

Generally he has the outward appearance and demeanor of a nice guy and he is one. He tries to be patient with those whom he deals with and doesn't suffer fools though. They make him slightly irritable. He is also professional.
