Open World Concept

When I decided to start up Poseidon Station I knew I wanted to do things differently. I don’t want to run one mission after another. So after talking with other Commanding Officers of Starbase simms, we adapted an open world concept.

It’s loosely based on the open world principle many video games have, like Star Trek Online. Where all the participants live in the same environment, but still can have their own adventures. That’s the kind of environment we want to create on Poseidon Station for the writers.

A place where it’s main focus will be character development, on you being able to write the stories you want. And help others write their stories. Together we will let the station develop into the hub we want it to be for the region.

But for this way of writing we need writers that can work on their own. Who don’t need a commanding officer who tells them what to write. Writers that can show initiative. Writer’s that like to play many different positions by having a number of NPC’s next to their main characters. Those NPC’s can be as extensive or as basic as you like. Borrowed from Captain Kate Banninga, Langley Station
