Following the departure of the USS Nogura from the mirror universe, the dynamics of the area have changed. While the Terran Empire led by an Emperor remains the dominant force in the quadrant, factions have splintered from the Empire as a result of the revelation that it was infiltrated by the Prime Universe's Commander Valentine, who impersonated the Empress for a time. Many high-level leaders within the Empire viewed this as a weakness and have either completely split from the Empire or remain from within waiting for their moment to seize power.
The Rebellion has also suffered a great loss of both influence and morale with the death of Lucia, their leader. Rebellion territories have been subjected to relentless attacks by the Empire seeking to regain complete control of the quadrant. While the Rebellion has suffered some defeat, the faction is still strong under the leadership of General Thomas Rice. However, a new faction has formed that threatens both the Empire and the Rebellion. Known only as the “Renegades”; they operate in small cells under the command of a faceless leader known only as “Phoenix”. The Renegades seem to have no greater purpose, nor seek influence or control within the region, at least not in the sense the Empire does. Their only drive seems to be in re-opening the anomaly that brought the USS Nogura to this universe, but no one knows why.

In the aftermath of the explosion at airlock 6, Harrington and crew set out to find answers and return life to normal. However, things are rarely normal for our crew and soon it is discovered that someone has been accessing the Federation database illegally. With classified information being downloaded, Captain Harrington orders a complete investigation. However, things go from bad to worse when the Station’s Chief Operations Officer is arrested and charged with espionage.
Determined to prove Lieutenant Yoshida’s innocence, the crew dives headfirst into a game of cloak and dagger. However, the further they dig the more it would appear that fate is not on their side. As the pieces of the puzzle start to fall apart one thing is clear; Yoshida is guilty. Or is he?
As the great Sherlock Holmes would say something is afoot. It would seem that this mystery ties back to something, or someone, long forgotten.
Mission 22: The Other Side of the Mirror

What or who is left behind can and often does have great repercussions on the timeline and how events unfold. Since the crew of Poseidon Station returned from the Mirror Universe. the Mirror Universe has been tearing itself apart with various factions striving to maintain control of the limited resources.
Thorrin informs the crew that according to current projections a major player in the Mirror Universe is going to take control. If the timeline plays out as it is right now, this faction will attempt a full invasion of the Prime Universe and win. To make matters worse this person is a Starfleet Officer. Believing that Harrington and his crew need to fix their previous mistakes, Thorrin orders the Senior Staff to board the Herodotus and set course for the Mirror Universe.
Things are never what they seem when one goes through the looking glass. For good or bad the ramifications from this temporal event will be seen and heard.
