Mission 21: The Trouble with Technology
Location: Throne Room and Elysium Dreams
Timeline: Current
When Brina mentioned what she said something clicked it Patton's head. "That could have been Liam Reynolds... Lieutenant Commander Reynolds that is. The station's Chief Counselor, he may be the first stop if this being was calling his name."
"Then that is our first stop." Brina stated, "Okay we have our first objective, Lieutenant Commander Reynolds. Wonder why said individual is wanting him." she mused.
Brina felt a bit antsy, as they left the Throneroom and not knowing where Lieutenant Commander Reynolds was at, she asked the computer. She also hoped that the Chief Counselor was all right, but not knowing the man, she had no idea what he was like.
Brina tapped on her commbadge, since she didn't know the man personally, she might as well contact him directly.
"Lieutenant Commander Reynolds, this is Marine Captain Brina Tracy Hall, where are you located at?"
While she waited for the answer, Brina asked. "Has any of you met Lieutenant Commander Reynolds?"
Kaia wasn't exactly sure what a Marine Corpsman could do in a situation like this, and frankly, it sounded more like a matter for the Station's Security Team. However, orders were orders and she would comply. "Only been here a day at best, haven't met the Commander yet, Sir," Kaia replied.
Schiano cocked an eyebrow as he noticed the looks that the group was getting from some of the station personnel. It was slightly irregular to see Marines pan out all over the station as they were. Robert did not have to be a Betazoid to know that it was making some people uneasy. "Counselor Reynolds is a nice guy for the most part. Easy ta talk to. But like most Betazoids he knows what you are going to say before you say it."
"I'm ... i'm actually off duty right now ..." Liam's voice came out over the comm. "What can I help you with Marine Captain?" He scratched his head wondering why she was contacting him and at the probably the worst time when he was actually booking the events for her COs stag do.
"What is your location? it is very important, sir." Brina responded.
"You know I can come to you. Just give me 15 minutes to finish up what I am doing here," Liam said slightly nervously. Why was this marine wanting to see him immediately.
"I am sorry sir, I have orders, where are you at and please do not stonewall me. It is of great importance." Brina was deciding if he continued on this bent she'll just locate him right now.
"Stonewall you ...." Liam shook his head in disbelief. "I'm cooperating ... its just I didn't think you would .... ... oh fine. Meet me at the Elysium dreams. And do not mention it to your CO at all. That's of great importance too."
Brina looked at those with her, gave a nod. "We'll be there very soon. "
Once she signed off the commbadge, Brina stated, "As requested, we do not breathe a word to the Major as to where we are going. We've got location of Reynolds and we are going to...the Elysium Dreams."
Elysium Dreams Strip Club
Once the group of marines arrived, Brina looked around, "Well, nice place here."
Liam looked at the group in disbelief. What could he possibly have done that required a group of marines to hunt him down at a strip club of all places.
"I'm in the process of booking a private party for your CO's stag do. He asked me to organise it," he stated. He shouldn't have to defend himself but he felt like he needed too. An entire group of them walking in was just intimidating.
"What exactly have I done that requires all you coming to find me," he asked. He indicated the table where he had been filling in a padd with food, drinks, games and dance requirements.
"We are currently trying to solve a mystery, this woman." holding out the PADD with the colored drawing of a purple skinned woman with cottony fluff, dressed in nothing but a towel. "Appeared in the midst of the Throneroom, we are hoping to find out if there is a threat to the station or at the very least rescue the poor woman. We figured that she was speaking of you, and felt it wise to check on you and if you had been approached by the woman in question. All we had to go on was an Am Reynolds. The Major had mentioned that it could be you she was asking about."
Liam looked and for a moment it took a while for his brain to click. He felt awful for her looking at the still. He knew it had been bad as she had shared it in their link but seeing how bad made it much worse.
"Oh she did go through the wars. That's Kaylee. My girlfriend. She told me about this incident. Her shower malfunctioned and then some transporters malfunctioned and she ended up being beamed naked to several places including your throne room and she believe it or not ended up here and dancing on a podium mistaken as a dancer. She really didn't have a good day. Her skin was all sore and she came to see me later and told me about it all. We found some honey lotion ...." his eyes sparkled a little at the memory of using that then he shook his thoughts away from that.
"Anyway ...." he cleared his throat, "she felt better again and told me about this place. I can take you too her," he said seriously. "But thank you. I'm perfectly safe."
"Ahh Mister Liam would your friends like a drink. You help plan the party?" the waiter asked seriously.
Kaia looked around and couldn't help but grin. "Perhaps this station isn't so bad, ", she told herself as she looked around, trying hard not to listen to the poor Counselor defend himself.
Robert wanted nothing more than a beer right now. However, he thought better of it being on duty and all. His spirits picked up as he thought that this great mystery would be closing up soon.
Jack sat in the Throneroom. He had received updates from all of his team leaders and so far they had struck out. The only person who had not checked in yet was Brina. He was about to tap his comm badge when he thought it best to let her handle it and give her a few more minutes.
"Sorry, much as it sounds like a great idea, we're still on duty, but will keep it in mind when we are not." Brina remarked, to the waiter. She turned her attention back to Liam.
"Okay, hearing the news about your girlfriend and the horrible experience, I am sorry she didn't get the help like she needed. I though, am glad that she is no longer covered in that goop, it looked rather uncomfortable. Give her our best and.. don't worry we'll not be telling the Major about what you have planned, as long as.. some of his marine family is included in this event." cracking a bit of a smile. "Also am glad you are safe and sound. I shall leave you to it, and I need to report to Patton that the mystery has been solved." Brina did look over towards the stage where Liam had said his girlfriend had been on, and shook her head. Poor girl. It must have been difficult to deal with.
"I'd like to meet your girlfriend sometime, will have to do that later on." she mused out loud. "And nice to meet you as well, Lieutenant Commander Reynolds." Brina said smiling.
Tapping on the commbadge Brina reported in, "Major, mystery has been solved will give you a full report on it later. The woman in question is safe and sound, under the care of her boyfriend, Lieutenant Commander Liam Reynolds." Brina didn't want to spread the woman's name especially in this public place. A person needs to exercise discretion on a matter such as this.
"Too bad," Kaia thought as she saw a waitress carrying a tray of drinks, "perhaps later."
Well that had been somewhat surreal, Liam mused. He would tell Kaylee about this encounter when he saw her next.
He smiled at the waiter and took his drink. "Yes I shall give her your best and be in touch about the stag do."
Jack laughed out loud in the Throneroom. Well laugh is putting it mildly it was a full out guffaw and he was glad that no one was around to see. They went full alert for Liam's girl... He tapped his comm badge to open the channel with Songbird. "Great work Songbird. I look forward to reading your full report. The order to stand down has been issued. I believe this will close Operation Blue Jay. Send the Counselor my best. Blackjack out..."
Meatball adjusted his pack on his back and was both relieved and bothered. He was relieved that he was not going to have to use the pack, however, bothered that he had to bring it at all. He turned to both Brina and Hill. "Sirs, perhaps The Castle can lend a hand with whatever is affecting the station's systems. Could help bring everything under control. Sir..."
Songbird looked over at Meatball, "That's a good idea, let's link up with security and go help out, this seems to be an all hands on deck sort of mess. I remember having to do this when I was on the other station. All security and marines worked together to pull things together. I remember when we had to deal with a dinosaur." she looked at Liam.
Anthony had been knee deep in the computer databases of various systems and had so far came across degradation of pathways due to nanites. They had seemed to infect and move on but leave traces of themselves within their subroutines of each system. So, this therefore causes the degradation and the malfunctions. The question was now how to catch them, to reverse the damage and stop the moving foward.
"Blackjack sends his regards, and glad the mystery is resolved. And I am sure that you heard all that anyway." Brina laughed. "I will see you later on for my... routine meeting with the counselor. I learned from my friend who was a counselor, don't make the counselors hunt you down." her eyes sparkling up in fun.
“Quite,” Liam quipped. “It’s not pretty.”
Kaia couldn't help but smile, her sister being a Counselor she was very familiar with the type. She knew exactly what the Captain was referring to when she spoke of being hunted down. It wasn't pretty.
"Well let's get going." Brina said to those with her. "A pleasure meeting you once more, Counselor Reynolds." giving a smile.
