Mission: The Mirror’s Edge
Location: Elysian Dreams
Timeline: Current

ON:

Liam got to the venue earlier to ensure everything was set up. They had dinner booked, entertainment booked. Cigars. All the human customs. He wasn't entirely sure how marines celebrated but he knew the venue was a typical Stag do activity.

Chientaka, the Lurian owner came up to where Liam was making sure things were all set up. In her rather deep voice, it being similar to Alan Rickman, "You got everything you need?" taking an assessing look at the display. The party was set in a somewhat private area but still where the men could see the stage from where they'd be seated. Thanks to Niska her business was booming, the clientele seemed to have doubled due to her new partner's eye for quality servers and making sure those who were there were being well taken care of. A happy worker means a happy place which meant more money.

“Everything looks great especially the menu. Thank you for accommodating all the requests there,” the part betaziod said. “The place is looking good Chientaka. I can see you have implemented a lot of changes in the decor among other things.”

The girls were happier to. He could sense the general emotions for the whole club was very upbeat.

"Its all due to my new business partner, Niska Otrei, she came and helped me get this place up to date." looking around, and feeling a great pride.

Anthony strolled in with his usual confidence and ease. He was wearing a shirt and jeans, comfortable shoes as he knew he'd be on his feet all night whether that be at the bar, dance floor or what ever else came up that day. He headed straight for a drink and waited for the others to arrive. He loved a good night out, and even more so that it was a fellow marine, his CO that was the one getting married.

Craig had been a bit surprised when he'd received this invitation. He'd only been on the station for a bit, but he figured as a now-senior officer, it was a given he'd be invited. He nodded at Liam as he walked in and joined Anthony at the bar.

Outside the club, at a respectable distance, stood Hiro. He'd seen Liam going in, Craig, and another who he didn't know. He still felt uneasy of entering a strip club, despite his talk with Liam about that. It was the idea of being in such a place. He sincerely hoped his friend wouldn't mind having his own stag party somewhere else.

But he couldn't stay outside forever. He said he would be there and Hiro had no doubt Liam would come searching for him if he wouldn't show up. He sighed as he stepped forward out of the shadow and started to walk to the club that carried the name Elysian Dreams. Upon entering he immediately looked for his best friend.

Liam spotted him of course he did. Perhaps things hadn't gone we'll with Mel for him to be procrastinating outside.

Jack had been busy the past few weeks. He had been assisting with the investigation into what happened at the airlock. As such he had forgotten about anything having to do with the wedding. But when Liam asked if he could come down to Elysian Dreams, jack had an idea what was to happen. He wore a pair of jeans, a flannel shirt and his cowboy boots. As he made his way to the club he had a smile on his face and he thought about how his team, the crew, hell the entire station needed this as it regrouped from what happened. He stopped outside the club, and looked around for Liam. Jack thought that the best man would want to lead him in.

Liam practically collided with Patton as he had spotted Hiro hesitating outside. “Woah.. Oh hey Jack. Great you found the place. We have a separate VIP area. I've just got to go Shepherd Hiro in and then we will get this party started, ” he smiled at the man not aware of any tradition he was supposed to walk him anywhere.

He fished around in his pocket and pulled two things out. “Everyone's at the bar and your going to need these later, ” he passed a bag of latinum bits and a cigar into the mans hands.

Craig saw Jack arrive -- he hadn't seen anyone wearing cowboy boots since his parents took him to an Ancient West re-enactment years ago. He chuckled and turned back to the bar, ordering a whiskey neat from Earth. He mostly been putting up with synthehol these past few years, so it was refreshing to drink real alcohol for a change.

"Nice they've got the real stuff here, eh?" Anthony said to Craig as he took a swig of his beer. "I mean synthahol is fine, but for a stag party. Pfft no chance that would ever get going!"

"Indeed they do!" Craig chuckled, glancing over to see how his drink was proceeding, "At least they can cure hangovers these days. I've heard it was rough back in the 'good ol' days' of drinking."

When he saw that Liam was talking to Jack, Hiro decided to pick a place on one of the luxurious red sofas in the back. Saying he was out of his comfort zone was an understatement and watching from a distance on how things would unfold was good enough for him.

Craig noticed Hiro sitting in the corner, looking quite uncomfortable. He motioned to the bartender to make a second copy of his drink. Many people got nervous their first time in a place like this, so he figured Hiro might need to be eased into the celebration.

"Oh he managed to already ...." Liam said with a grin. Hiro had been outside and now he was inside on a couch. "False alarm," he said to Jack. "He's already got himself over the threshold.

"So Jack lets get you a drink ehh?"

"I think that would be a great idea. Scotch, neat." Jack said with a smile. Jack was impressed with the amount of people that showed up. He never thought that he had so many friends.

Chientaka, seeing that the guests were arriving walked over to the bar and took a seat there. She gave a nod towards Samson, "Nice seeing you here, Chief."

The bartender who was a red headed Bajoran woman, got the drink Samson requested, " Here you go sir." giving him a smile, "If you need more, all you need to do is give a signal and I'll deliver it or one of the others can bring it over for you."

Craig nodded at Chientaka with a polite smile, "Nice place you've got here. Been a while since I was at such an... establishment." Although it had been centuries since these types of establishments had to be hidden away on Earth, Craig chuckled to himself about the fact that many humans, including himself, retained some residual bashfulness about being seen at them.

While the woman bartender chatted with Samson, another woman came walking up to Hiro, a dark haired woman wearing a white toga with a gold belt around her waist, "Are you okay? You seem uncomfortable. My name is Maria, what's yours?"

Although he didn't feel relaxed in this place, Hiro still was quite alert to everything and everyone around him. And so he already had spotted the lady from afar who now stood in front him. "Oh..hi.." He stood from the couch in an effort to show his respect for Maria. "I'm Hiro. And I'm fine, really. Don't worry."

"Oh my a gentleman, thank you." Maria giving Hiro a smile, her eyes a dark green. "Please sit down Hiro if you don't mind, I'd like to talk with you for just few minutes. It would make my boss happy and honestly I like talking with men who show respect." she tucked back a strand of her long dark hair, looking into his eyes. "And don't worry I won't bite, unless you want me to." giving a soft laugh.

"Oh..of course. Please.." The Asian man gestured to the sofa and waited until Maria took her place. He then sat down himself, making sure there was enough distance between him and her. "And I..um..think we can leave out the biting part." he said and smiled, but it was clear he was trying too hard, making it even more obvious that he was not used to be in a place like the Elysian Dreams.

Maria softly chuckled, "I was just teasing you, sort of." giving Hiro a wink, and a gentle smile. "Anyway, care to tell me a little bit about yourself? Are you married? Seeing someone? I know, too many questions. " her smile wavering slightly. "I am not good a this really."

"That..makes two of us." Hiro admitted to her. "And to answer your question, yes, I'm seeing someone."

Craig saw that Hiro was one of the first guests at the party to meet one of the venue's workers. Knowing Hiro, he figured he might really need that drink right about now, so he walked over and set it down next to him. He walked back far enough so as to not interrupt the conversation, but close enough that he was still, barely, within earshot.

Jack took the scotch from the bar. He smiled at the gathered crowd, and his heart swelled as he saw that some of The Kingsmen were in attendance as well as station personnel. Jack had always viewed the Kingsmen has his family and now it was time that he realzied his family was a lot larger than that. "So lads what are we going to get up to tonight?" He asked as he approached the rest of the group.

"Well, it's your party," Craig responded with a smile, "What do you want to do with your one last night of 'freedom'?"

"How about some drinks and some ole fashioned cigars. Just some antics, lets see what kind of trouble I can get into before the ball and chain is attached." Jack said with a smile.

Tag Anyone

“Maria,” one of the other dancers approached her. “I’m sorry sir. If I could just have a word,” she bowed respectfully to Hiro.

Hiro nodded. "Of course. No problem."

Maria looked reluctantly at having to leave Hiro's side, but rose from her place upon the couch. "What is happening?"

“There’s a problem. Larissa is ill. We are one down for the combined routines. I called Niska. I didn’t know what else to do. She’s the only other person knows the routines.”

Maria gave a slight sigh, "Okay that is a good idea but will she be coming down?"

“She said she’s coming down,” the other lady said with relief. All the dancers felt better knowing their new dance teacher had their back.

“The boss said, Let’s change the programme and get dinner served first and bump the dancing to afterwards. She will have arrived by then. And she suggested a cake by way of apology that we can bring out afterwards.”

Maria nodded, "Okay, well once she is here we can do the dance right? And it ht mean time I want to finish talking to that nice gentleman." heading back to where Hiro was seated. "I have returned. If you could guess just a slight problem with a dancer coming down ill." she sat down, then looked over towards Samson, "You can come over and have a seat next to me on this side." Patting the cushion next to her.

As she was getting ready to talk more, there is a bell that sounded, "Oh looks like dinner is going to be served."

Craig's ears perked up at the mention of food. It had been such a crazy few weeks on the station that he realized he hadn't eaten in a good while. He moved in the direction of what he presumed was the table set for the party.

The drinks began to take their toll on Jack and food sounded like a great idea. "What do we have for eats fellas?"

"I figured we needed good old fashioned stodge," Liam said. "There's hamburgers, pizzas, fries, wings, ribs ....."

"And," one of the dancers said taking Patton's arm and leading him to the table. "The chef can cater to any other things you might fancy. You are the designated stag yes?"

Jack smiled as the dancer took his arm. "Yes that would be me... and a good ole steak sounds good right about now. One with all the trimmings."

"Then this is your seat. Best in the house," she informed him with a wink.

"Thanks Miss?" Jack's voice trailed off as he asked for the woman's name. A small twinge of regret rang through him as he looked at other women. He pushed that feeling down, this was his Stag Party and looking was allowed.

"The rest of you please," she indicated the table. "Any more drinks we can organise for you as well."

Hiro followed behind Jack and took up a seat opposite from him. The food he saw was not the kind of food he normally took, but then that was to be expected on this kind of party. It meant he'd be doing extra time in the Gym and Holodeck the coming week. He looked at Jack and grinned. "At least we won't have to worry about getting enough food."

Maria came back and remarked, "If you do not want the food that had been mentioned, our chef as was stated, can fix something you prefer." giving a bit of a smile, and looking towards Hiro having noted the expression in his eyes. "just let one of us know. We are also some of the hostesses assigned as well."

"No, this is fine. I won't bother your chef for other food." Hiro said as he smiled back. "It's a party and this is the food that goes with it. It just means extra hours in the Gym later."

"I am sure that no one will starve for food or attention this evening." Jack said in response to Hiro as he sipped his drink.

"Seeing all this," Hiro looked around the room they were in and at several ladies. "I do agree with you." He started to feel a little more comfortable now that they had started dinner. It felt more...normal. He raised the glass, with unknown contents, that stood before him. "To you, Major. I mean..Jack. Congrats on your upcoming marriage. May it last a lifetime."

Jack raised his glass and clinked it with Hiro's. "Thanks Hiro. It means a lot to be surrounded by family on this occasion." In the time that Jack had spent on the Nogura and then later the station he had come to see the crew has family just as much as the Kingsmen. Perhaps they were all Kingsmen. Now there's a thought. Jack mused.

Craig raised his glass in agreement with the toast. He took a sip - the drink was better than he expected, no doubt due to the real alcohol it contained. He though about the impending steak dinner - it had been a while since he'd last eaten.

The hostesses which were there, made certain that the glasses of water or what the men were drinking weren't left to be empty. It being of the men's choices. Liam got a ping on his PaDD "Sorry gentlemen I need to leave. Please enjoy. And I think that all of you will be able to continue on, without me." rising up from his chair and leaving quickly.

The owner of the establishment came over. " This means you boys will be stuck with me." giving a deep laugh. 'Are you gentlemen being well taken care of?" Chientaka asked. As far as she was concerned her staff were doing well to keep the men happy.

"I have no complaints, ma'am." Hiro replied and offered her a brief smile. "The drinks are good, the company is good, and I'm sure dinner will be just as good." The longer he was in this club, the more comfortable he felt. Until now it wasn't like he imagined it would be.

Patton looked toward the hostess with a smile. "How about some cigars, some stogies?" He laughed getting a little boisterous.

Cigars, cigars.. Hiro reached for the one pocket his white shirt was rich. He held up six cigars. "I suppose you're looking for these? Cuban..I think. If I remember Liam well."

"There you go" said the hostess, "I can bring more as well." then she is interrupted by another of the hostesses. She looked at the other girl and shushed, "Soon it will be soon."

"Any of you wish to make toasts to the groom?" Chientaka asked.

Jack took one of the cigars and lit it up. After a few quick posts he smiled. "This is one of the good ones. Damn I miss these..." He thought back to his days in boot and the cigars he shared with his classmates there.

Hiro looked up at Chientaka. "I've already taken the opportunity to toast to the Major. I'll join if anyone else wants to do another. That is, if I still have a drink left." He tried to imitate Jack with using his own cigar. He inhaled,..and immediately regretted doing that. He started to cough loudly, to the point that he thought he would cough his own lungs out.

Maria came over quickly offering some water to help Hiro to quit coughing. "Oh my are you going to be okay?"

At the same time Chientaka looked over towards the kitchen area and someone gave her a nod.

"It looks like we've got some entertainment coming your way."

A large cake is wheeled out. Tables being moved to accommodate the cake. Then music starts to play, a seductive sensual piece of music. The top of the cake busts open and a woman rises from it, dancing in time with the music. Her outfit almost left little to the imagination, as part of the cake opened for her to step out without mishap. She sinuously moved towards Patton, giving a seductive smile, her waist length dark hair was loose, it moving to her dancing. She made her way around the table, running her fingers along the men's shoulders that were there, and along the jaw of others, then she returned back to Patton. Running her fingers along his cheeks and through his hair.

Craig took another sip of his drink. With a smile, he figured there was a reason the Captain hadn't been invited. With all the other scandals of late, word getting around of his attendance here would probably not be well received.

Another dancer comes to dance in front of Samson, her slowly moving her hips causing the bells on her belt chime softly.

The dancer in front of Patton leaned towards him to show her cleavage-

Fwoom! the cake explodes!

The concussion from the explosion, knocked the dancer forward slamming her into Patton knocking them both over. Chientaka was sent flying a few feet away landing on a table then slid to the floor. Those in the vicinity would have been knocked down. There were some screams, shouts smoke evident in the air. The blast wasn't large enough to mess with the place but it covered the area where the men had been seated and in radius.

Alert alarms were going off, as well as the sprinkler system raining down water over the whole establishment.

Pandemonium ensued!

The blast caused Hiro to fall backwards in his chair and his cigar went flying through the air landing meters behind him. It was less than a second later that his food followed and landed right on his chest and face.

Anthony had been near the cake when it exploded. The force and fire of said explosion forced him and many others to the ground. There was a sharp pain in his shoulder, a chair leg seemingly choosing to make its home there and he could feel the left side of his body was warm, consistent with how you'd feel from injury. He was bleeding, his head, shoulder, and side were all damaged but he still rose to his feet to see where Patton was. "This is Hill, callout!" he shouted for those conscious to alert him to their presence.

Hiro plucked away some lettuce leafs from his face. "I'm still breathing, Lieutenant. Did someone put a bomb in that cake? Really?"

Maria was near Hiro, cake frosting splattered all over plus someone else's dinner too, "Wha-wha happened?" she moved to crawl over towards Hiro and gave a gasp feeling a sharp pain in her wrist.

Chientaka rolled to one side and struggled to get up, slipping due to the water that was all over. "Someone turn off that sprinkler!" she bellowed.

Craig had been about the same distance from the cake as Hiro, so he likewise was knocked out of his chair. "Computer, disable sprinklers and alarms in this room, authorization code Samson-Beta-7-2-7-Alpha!" he shouted over the deafening alarms.

Jack Patton could have had worse last images. However, just as the dancer started to do her thing his vision was filled with an intense white light. He felt the heat on his face and a weight on his chest. Then he felt and saw nothing.
