Mission: The Mirror’s Edge
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Before the bachelorette party

Kaylee took a look at the calendar and realized that quite a few days had passed by, and all the excitement, she hadn't even gone in for the mandatory physical exam. Kaylee then remembered that she had one when she took Brell to medical and met Lyras. However, she's not had the chance to go see Butterfly since she had last talked to her, that weird tea party that Kaylee had given. Kaylee chuckled, and wondered slightly if perhaps Fallon would like her to keep her distance. Well won't hurt to see Fallon and see how 'Butterfly' was doing, and see what her bedside manners were like. And so Kaylee went, and stepped into Medical, looking around to see if she could spot Butterfly anywhere.

"Excuse me, could you let me know if Lieutenant Morgenstern is in?" asking one of the medical personnel who passed by. "Please let her know that Kaylee is looking for her."

"Of course ma'am." the nurse stated as she turned towards the farside of sickbay to find Morgenstern. She had no idea why anyone would want to be attended to by the nutcase that was the former psychiatrist turned would-be doctor. The woman was a workplace hazard and an accident waiting to happen. Still, she was under orders to assist Morgenstern where needed.

She pushed open a glass door to the office where Morgenstern sat before a console. "Doctor Morgenstern, a woman named Kaylee is looking for you." the nurse stated before hurriedly slipping out the door.

Fallon frowned as she wondered why the nurse had not even given her the chance to respond before rushing away. Was she really that repulsive?

Fallon rose from her seat with a resigning sigh and walked out to the main area where she found Kaylee. She had since wiped her frown from her face as she traversed sickbay as so not to openly allude to Kaylee her mood.

"Good day Kaylee, how can I help you today?"

Kaylee smiled when she saw her friend, then the smile slipped slightly catching something coming from Butterfly. "Hmnnn, when was the last time you had your dose of vitamin 'H' ? And I don't mean Biotin." raising an eyebrow. "Doctor Kaylee says that you need a good dose of vitamin 'H' to bring down stress levels and make life more bearable." her smile brightening back up then she whispered, "H-U-G is the complete vitamin." then she gave a slight chuckle, and in a normal voice. "Once your dose had been given then I can get back to why I am here."

Fallon smiled as she returned the hug. Although the gesture was awkward, Kaylee was not entirely wrong. The long hours and Silverstone's cold demeanor weighed heavily on her. A light-hearted gesture was a welcome deviation.

"Okay so even though I had a check up by Lyras it was just a quick one when I brought Iy'dan here, I wanted you to also do one. Plus there is something else I wanted to invite you to. And no this is not going to be an awkward party. Hopefully not that is. I'm throwing a hen party for the intelligence officer of this station. She is getting married and well, I figured this would be a great way for her to meet and make friends. And also I wanted you to be there." Kaylee said with a pleading look in her eyes.

Fallon looked at Kaylee confusedly. "What is a hen party? I am unfamiliar with the term." she said uneasily as she felt a familiar anxiety build up.

"Okay it is a bachelorette party where the ladies get together just to celebrate the bride to be before she gets married. Some have it to it being their last time of being single. It doesn't have to be a wild party, I am utilizing this for us to get to know a few of the ladies on the station. To be honest, Aer doesn't know too many ladies and this is an opportunity for all of those whom I'm inviting to get to know one another. It will be at Niska's place, Neptune's Folly. Though if you don't want to go its okay." Kaylee stated.

Fallon's eyes widened as she sensed an elevation in her GABA levels evoked by fear response at the mention of Neptune's Folly. Silverstone had referred Fallon to a therapist on the station who specialized in treatments for fear avoidance, all of which Fallon was quite familiar with. However, they had not had session just yet.

Fallon ran her hand through her hair and chuckled. "Heh, I really appreciate the offer, and I adore being close with friends and colleagues, but I am afraid I am quite engaged for the next couple of weeks." she fibbed.

Kaylee nodded, "Well that is okay, I can understand that." catching an underlying hint of emotion but she wasn't going to pry. "So.. as for my medical fitness, will I live for a long time?" Kaylee asked, with a smile.

"Oh dear!." Fallon exclaimed apologetically realizing she had delayed Kaylee's reason for coming. "Please follow me so we can begin the examination. I will need to retrieve my medical tricorder."

"Sounds good" Kaylee responded following after Fallon. "So...are you okay? How are things going with your certification?"

"Satisfactory I suppose." Fallon said with a shrug, not entirely sure. Silverstone had been quite sharp with her in their last meeting so Fallon could not really assess how she was doing, or she really was doing terrible. However, her last "patient" had not died, so there was that.

"Sounds like you are being really worked over." Kaylee responded. "where do you want me to sit for the examination? And also to be honest I think you will be and are a good doctor. And its not just because you and I are friends." Kaylee giving a smile.

Fallon lowered her head slightly. "Doctor Silverstone has me on quite a rigorous schedule." she said nervously. She reached up and scratched the back of her head. "You can sit on the biobed if that would make you more comfortable."

Kaylee got up on the bio bed, like most times she would for an examination. "I trust you, Fallon." giving a smile of encouragement.

Fallon looked at Kaylee confusedly. Was her skills with a medical tricorder in question? She wondered what exactly Kaylee thought Fallon was about to do. "Um...ok, I just need to use my tricorder to examine you. To this day, no one has suffered any ill effects associated with the use of a tricorder."

Kaylee looked confused as she thought she was just giving Fallon some words of encouragement. "I never thought you would hurt me with a tricorder." Kaylee thought for a moment longer then her brow cleared. "oh dear once again I have caused some awkwardness. I was just... trying to give some words of encouragement. Okay." she giggled. "I am sorry Fallon. My mind is probably just all jumbled up due to the bachelorette party I had been planning."

"It is all right." Fallon replied. "It is likely me. I am what some would describe as socially awkward."

Kaylee was puzzled about that remark. "Um well I never perceived you as socially awkward, maybe a little bit shy and awfully hard on yourself. I can be awkward in my own way. Like that weird party I put together for you and Brell. The tea party for faeries." she laughed rubbing the back of her neck. "I can be so strange at times." giving a bit of a shrug.

"It was a kind gesture and I quite enjoyed it. Sometimes it is nice to take ourselves back to simpler times and reminisce moments when the daily hassles we endure today were non-existent. I may not place much weight in my studies on internal processes, but I certainly don't ignore them either. Not everything can be explained with data and numbers." Fallon responded.

"This is true." Kaylee responded. "I am glad you enjoyed it even if it were weird." giving a bit of a sigh, Kaylee looked around then said, "I had better get going. Still have that party to be put together. And since it looks like I'm in decent health, that is a worry crossed off my list." Kaylee moving off of the bio bed. "I will talk with you later, Butterfly." giving a grin and a giggle, then giving Fallon an embrace. "I hope things will change for the better for you."

"That makes two of us." Fallon said softly under her breath.
