Mission: The Mirror’s Edge
Location: Kaylee and Liam's Quarters
Timeline: Current

[On]
Kaylee stepped into the quarters she had shared with Liam, giving a bit of a sigh. It was feeling so empty, so alone without him there. A lonely meal, with her gazing towards where he would be seated and them sharing a conversation their minds linked with each other. He did have to go, and the departure had to be quickly done. She would be packing up their things in preparation for her departure, once the investigation into the bombings was done and the wedding of Patton and Aer was done. She had to keep her promise, and Kaylee if she didn't see this through she wouldn't be at rest.

She was irritated about that spy, the one whom had fooled her. Kaylee really wanted to just punch the woman, Yiara Tahn, right in the mouth. Kaylee finished her soup and also the Kimden bun. She couldn't manage anymore than that. Her stomach was feeling so tied up in knots at the moment. She wanted to talk to someone right now but, her parents and brothers were already headed for home, before that bombing had happened. Kaylee was glad they weren't there for that happening. The bombing. Oh! she had better call them, they will be rather worried about that.

Kaylee went to her computer and noticed that there was a message waiting for her. It wasn't from Liam, it was her family. She opened up and read,

"Kaylee get in contact with us as soon as you can. Are you okay? Please let us know!"

Kaylee made the call, and it was immediately answered. She could see both of her parents looking rather tired and worried.

"Kaylee you are okay! What is going on there! We saw the news about the blast!" Her mother was looking extra worried, "And where is Liam?!"

Her father also added in. "were you there when that explosion hit?"

Okay Mama, Dad, I will get you caught up. First off, Liam isn't here, and thank goodness. He was at the stag party, but was called away from it. He has been transferred and it was immediately. It was horrible, a dancer had been killed and it was a cake that exploded. The dancer had fortunately and also unfortunately saved the bridegroom. I am saying that it was unfortunate for the dancer." Kaylee's eyes filling with tears and a sob in her voice.

"I wasn't there as the bachelorette party was at another location. Anyway we've got an investigation that is being conducted and I am in the middle of it." Kaylee added, wiping away the tears that started to trickle down her cheeks.

Her father who had sympathy in his eyes. "I am so sorry that happened little one. And I know that I can't persuade you to just leave and join your husband."

"Just like your father in that aspect. He won't leave an investigation unfinished." her mother giving a fond smile at her husband. Then she turned her gaze to her only daughter. "You just be careful and finish up your tasks. I am very glad that we got to meet Liam, and I am also looking forward to doing a celebration for you and Liam's marriage."

"That will probably be a bit delayed Mama." Kaylee responded, "A celebration would be rather lovely though, and I'm sure you and his mother are looking forward and already making plans for it. Including a ceremony? Will we be wearing clothing or will it be traditional?" Kaylee added with an impish smile. "I would prefer to be wearing clothing if you don't mind. I don't want to be sharing all of him, with everyone else." giving a laugh.

Narrea looked over towards her husband and then back to Kaylee. "Well, we wore clothing as well for our wedding. Grandmother wasn't against how we wanted to be married, she felt it was important that we both were happy." giving a bit of a smile towards her daughter. "Looks like you've got both of our determined spirit."

Kaylee laughed. "Guess so. Let the boys know that I am okay as well-"

That was when her brothers came into view. "Hey there baby sis. Glad to see you are okay. Now a word from us, find the bad guy and kick his or her or their butts! And be safe, we love you!" then they moved away from the viewscreen to let their parents have a final word.

"Yes be safe and be careful. We love you." Said Narrea.

"Indeed we do." Said her father, Richard.

Kaylee kissed her finger tips and then blew a kiss towards her family. All of them reaching out to catch it as it was their tradition, and they placed the kiss to their hearts. When they said their goodbyes, the screen went dark. Kaylee giving a sigh. That conversation helped her a great deal. She closed up the computer and made her way towards her bed. Bundling up the blankets like a body pillow, getting one of Liam's shirts that had been left behind, cuddling up against it, and fell asleep. Tomorrow was another day and hopefully they will get closer to catching the bad people who decided to hurt others.
