Mission: Mini Mission: When The Cat's Away
Location: Throne Room ( Marine Barracks )
Timeline: MD 3

K'doc strode down the corridor with a stride that had purpose to each step. He arrived at the entrance and only paused as he waited for the door to open. He walked in and looked about to see if he could spot an officer, failing that he went to the nearest desk that was manned. " I am Lieutenant Valadorn, Station Chief of Security. I need to talk with who ever is in charge, I have orders form the Commodore that effect both our departments. Get them for me, "

" Aye Sir. " Came the marines response as he went to find the person in charge.

Standing off to one side of the parade grounds with Sergeant Reilly, The two girls were talking shop with one another while comparing each other’s modified TR-116 rifles. Hearing someone say ‘security’ near the front desk, Ixalia looked over to see someone in a yellow uniform standing there waiting as a lowly Corpsman hurried off to find Master Sergeant Schiano, “what do you suppose that’s all about?” She asked Reilly as she gave her a nudge and nodded towards the officer.

The large Klingon looked around the bay, but showed no signs of what he might be thinking. He ran his finger across the counter top, almost as if he were doing an inspection and nodded his approval. He then glanced the direction of were the trio stood and gave a quick salute in their direction. He then returned to his waiting and began to readjust a large knife strapped to his left leg that was two feet in length and had marking on the scabbard of the 132nd ground assault division of the House Hurric Marines of the Klingon empire.

Robert looked up from his desk and saw the large Klingon waiting in the general quarters area. He rubbed his temples gently as the nature of command got the best of him. All Robert needed now was an irate Klingon. He stepped out of his office. "Lieutenant I am in charge while Colonel Patton and Captain Tracy-Hall are on assignment. Is there something I can do for you sir" His heavily accented New Yorker voice never changed however, he had the ability to scale his vocabulary up as it were.

Alicia was about to give the Klingon a tongue lashing, barging in like that and interrupting the natural flow of duty. However, before she could Meatball came out of his office. At the moment she was contented to see who this conversation would play out.

K'doc pulled out a PaDD that was tucked under his arm and handed it to him. " As per the Commodores orders, Security and the Marines working in conjunction to patrol Star Base Poseidon and conduct bomb sweeps of at least one per hour. This will take place under the guise of a combined Marine and Security extended training drill. If you need to send a squad into a warehouse area as a tactical exercise and conduct covert bomb sweeps, then we will do so. If you encounter any problems contact me and I'll send it to the Commodore and He'll take care of it. Also all reports and patrol logs will be filed at the end of each shift and entered into a joint server with all items of interest flagged for the Commodores attention. The minimum duration of this assignment will be three weeks or until the Commodore tells us to stop. " K'doc after he finished speaking pulled a flask out from under his tactical vest and opened it and took a swig. He then pushed it towards Meatball. " I don't mind sharing with a fellow marine. "

Robert should have seen this coming with the two explosions, and the one that was avoided. However, this was the worst time for the Kingsmen for this assignment. Both of their explosive experts were off on this blasted assignment. "Right well if da Commodore ordered it den we will see it done. Big Red you and the First Lieutenant there can take the first sweep." He smiled broadly as he took the flask and noticed the Klingon's weapon on his hip. "You were an Imperial Marine, perhaps da only fightin force dat can rival the SFMC." He smiled and took a swig then passed the flask back.

" We have a program that will be downloaded into your tricorders that will detect explosives. We have several EOD personal on the station, myself included that can take care of the device. " K'doc glanced down at his war dagger and nodded. " 132nd Ground Assault Division, House Hurric Marines. The best in the Empire. " He stated with pride. " And I am still listed as active duty to this day. I am on loan to Starfleet. A federation officer saved my father's life and I am here to repay a family debt of honor. One cannot expect the commander of the 132nd to take leave of his duty, So as his eldest son that duty falls to me. I am still and will always be a marine. Once a marine always a marine, isn't that right? " He said with a grin.

Turning to Alicia, Ixalia gave her a half smile, “EOD duty huh? Should we brake out the Tactical gear or go in tricorders and sidearms?”

K'doc over heard the EOD comment and turned his attention towards the group." I would advise for all marine personal to wear a tactical vest, all security personal are already doing so. For every pair of marines or security there will be one tricorder. EOD trained personal will be on standby to respond in case a call comes in." He looked at them and smirked. " If you really want to hear what's going on, then come over here, of course that would obligate you to having a swig of some thirty year old bloodwine. " K'doc looked at the weapon they were holding. Is that the TR-116? Is it the A or B variant? " He asked as he stroked his beard. " If you have those in stock, If you send out an eight man squads you might want one per squad, for training purposes of course. " He stated with a grin.

Before continuing to discuss the better facets of being a Marine Robert decided to address Alicia and Baaru. "Consider yourselves assigned to the security department for this mission. What the Lieutenant says goes, you follow his orders. Do I make myself clear?"

Alicia turned to the First Sergeant. "Yes sir!" She then cocked her head toward Baaru. "Well EL T looks like it is you and me. Lets suit up. Lieutenant Valadorn, shall we report to you when we are ready?"

" I'll go and get my patrol companion and return here. " Stated K'doc. " How large is the Marine compliment on this station? He asked. " security has three hundred personal for a station this size, That's a hundred per shift, we really should had between four hundred to four hundred and fifty to be fully staffed. How many combat companies do you have? " K'doc asked.

"The Kingsmen are one thousand strong. However, we do have a number on assignment with the USS Herodotus. We keep three platoons as ready units 24-7. How many do ya need?" Schiano replied. Talking numbers like this made him a little antsy as he thought the threat was neutralized.

" We'll need at least two full companies with the third company in reserve to respond to what ever else may come up in case of emergency." Said the large klingon. " The Commodore wants the station scanned at least once an hour, and this is a large station. The Commodore wants this to be a show of force and to send a message to those that were causing the problem in the first place. Civilian security will stick to their areas of patrol in here." As he pulled up a map of the station on his PaDD. " The remainder of the station will be covered by the Marines and Starfleet Security. I'll suit up and be back in twenty minutes. "

“Should we split the station in half horizontally and give one half to each department?” Baaru suggested as she looked over the map, “that should keep us out from under the others feet”

"I will have the three companies called up and sent to your office for duty assignments. If this is what the boss wants den we will see it done." Robert replied, his anxiety subsiding somewhat. The more they discussed the more this seemed to be a show that something was being done. Not that there was still a threat.

K'doc looked to Baaru. " Excellent suggestion. And we'll rotate the sector patrols by the day, this way the troops don't get bored with the same patrol every day and lose focus, And in this case, losing focus can cost lives. We don't believe that there is a credible threat at this time, But if any are still around, we wish to discourage them. "

K'doc perked up when he heard the information. " Three Companies heading to security for assignment? At shift change even. I'd best warn the watch commander that briefing will be a bit more packed then usual. Briefings will have to be given by patrol sections. I shall return shortly and we'll begin our patrol in the Ops area. " K'doc departed and returned in about fifteen minutes, by himself and in full Tactical vest and helmet hooked to his hip. Is everyone ready to go? " He asked.

Alicia was a little amazed by what had just transpired. As far as she knew Marines were not in the habit of securing a station. However, orders were orders. "We are ready when you are sir." She said to K'doc.

K'doc nodded and glanced to Alicia. " Alright, let's move out. " He said and moved to the nearest turbo lift and went directly to Ops. " alright, one of you come with me and we'll check this half of Ops while the second team checks the other half." K'doc walked over to the duty officer and handed him a PaDD and accessed the com channel for a station wide message.

=^= Attention all personal. Security and the marine units will be doing and emergency preparedness drill, this will take place starting now and run for several weeks. You will notice a higher then usual number of security and marine units patrolling the station, there is no threat to yourselves or the station. Please permit them access to any and all areas, and they will be out of your way shortly. Address any concerns to Lt. Valadorn, Chief of station security. This is only a drill. =^=

He turned to the others. " Let's get to work, shall we? "

Ixalia turned to Alicia, “come on, let’s get Recon moving”

K'doc tapped his com badge. " All unit proceed to your assigned patrol area. Call in hourly checks of areas completed. If you encounter resistance or find something unusual contact dispatch immediately. K'doc out. "
