ON

Ensign Cade coughed a little bit, the blue hazy smoke was still lingering from the last attack the Breen had done to the Paramount. She tried to brush off the patch of black soot that was on her uniform but made it worse causing a streak that went down her stomach. She even noticed that there were little holes caused by the sparks that had flown earlier. She looked over towards the view screen which showed the ships out there, and blinked, there might be another volley of torpedos coming their way.

Daynah rubbed her temple, she found a trickle of blood where her head had collided with the console during the last volley. Her hands danced across the console as she tried to get something, anything to throw at the enemy. Within her head, the discussion between herself and Ral raged. If it were not for Ral steadying her nerves and pushing her to soldier on Daynah would have fallen apart. "Shields are holding at 10 percent. We have hull breaches on decks 12 through 15. Weapons are off line..." Her voice trailed off and her eyes widened. "Multiple slipstream conduits opening. It's Starfleet Marine Squadron out of Empok Nor, its the Jury sir." As she spoke on the view screen multiple fighters could be seen arriving. What followed their arrival was a large slipstream conduit opening. A large beige colored ship began to emerge. "That is the CDF Vendish, and sir they are hailing us."

There were a myriad of things to keep track of, and Buck was doing his best considering the lump on his his temple that was making his head throb. But the crews were doing the best they could, trying to contain the damage and maintain and repair essential systems.

For now, they were holding their own, and reinforcements would be welcome.

Tom looked at the viewscreen, as the ships came into view. "I wasn't expecting the Cardassians," he gave a puzzled look to Ral. "Hail them," he stood up as he took a few steps. "This is Commodore Thomas Rice, Sector..." his voice trailed off.

Collectively, the group had taken out several of the smaller vessels and inflicted some damage on the larger ones. However, it wasn't enough. The Fleet needed more firepower and lots of it. "It's good to have your help," he added, "we can use it."

Markuul stood on his bridge and smiled in that way that only Cardassians could. "Commodore, decades ago a treaty existed between The Federation and the Cardassian Union. Today we come to honor that treaty."

Hearing the words of Markul made goosebumps rise on Ensign Cade's arms; she thought those words were compelling.

Tom nodded at the screen, "we are pleased to see you," he turned his attention to the bridge, "reinforcements are here, you heard the man. Lieutenant Ral, ensure our new friends have access to everything we know. I want the fleet regrouped," looking back at the Cardassian, "we need to take out those battleships. Our smaller crafts can handle the little stuff, but if we can't get those battleships taken care of this will be a short battle."

"You are in luck Commodore. The Breen do not welcome change, and as such rarely upgrade or change their methods of operation. The Breen have a unique physiology one that makes them have to wear a suit outside of their own environs. While aboard their vessel the environmental controls are set so they do not have to wear the cumbersome suit. I recommend concentrating your fire on their secondary systems and environmental control. When that fails, they will be too ill to operate their own ship." The snake-like smile crawled across Markuul's face. He at least saw the irony in what transpired here. "Weapons officer arm all weapons. Helm put us between the Paramount and the enemy. Perhaps we can give them something else to shoot at."

Tom gave Ral an odd look, "you hear the man, target their secondary systems and environmental controls, perhaps then they will be a bit more workable. Fire at will, Lieutenant," the Commodore gave the order. The Paramount was far from finished, but Tom was glad to be some extra help. He was surprised by the arrival of the Cardassians, but as the saying went don't look a gift horse in the mouth. At least, that is how he hoped the saying went.

Ensign Cade glanced back towards Lieutnant Ral, Gibbs and Commodore Rice, her eyes wide once more. She could scarcely believe this was happening. A beeping sound caught her attention and she smiled at the notice.

"Commodore just got word that Major Vishti was able to retrieve the officers." Cade feeling better.

Daynah acknowledged the order with a smile. For once in all of her lifetimes the Cardassians came through. A large number of torpedoes as well as phaser fire lanced out from both the Paramount and the Vendish. All weapons hit their marks. The phasers made a hole in the shields and the torpedoes made their way through. The lead Breen vessel began to list to port in a spin. However, it managed to return fire. The Vendish used its maneuvering thrusters to take the broadside of the weapons. The Paramount was unscathed by this volley.

Tom leaned forward in his chair; he was hard not to get too excited. With the additional help, things might actually start to turn around and he was noticeably excited. "Quick, before they have time to recover hit them with everything we got. Toss a damn shuttle at them, I don't care," he paused, "ok that last part.." He trailed off.

Just as he spoke another round of fire from the Cardassian vessel as the lead Breen battleship soon was engulfed in smoke. "Yes," Tom gestured, but there wasn't time to celebrate. "We still have a few more of these beasts to go," he looked around the bridge.

Daynah began to fire at will and hit multiple marks. The Vendish continued to press its attack and it seemed to work. "Gul Markuul reports that his target is rendered inoperable. He is sending a boarding party to take prisoners. Three of the other Breen vessels have either been destroyed or are in retreat."

"Good job!" Gibbs was proud of the Paramount's crew, they were doing a great job, and maintaining their professionalism despite the chaos, but it wasn't over yet. "Keep it up, and we'll have them regretting their life choices!"

The Paramount's sensors detected a number of large explosions of the port side of the ship. Before any investigation could be done as to what caused the explosions and excited woman's voice was heard cheering over the open fleet channel. "Yee Haw cowboys, we left squeekin from the freakin. Court is now adjourned." It was the voice of the CAG from Empok Nor Captain Jelane Shiqwue codenamed Firefly. Her squad had just made short work of a squad of Breen Fighters. One of the other pilots could be heard cheering as well. "That is a round of drinks you owe us Firefly. We can't always save yer butt."

Ensign Cade was pretty pumped up at all of the action she was witnessing, and smiling at the fact that some of the Breen ships were leaving with their tails between their legs.

She blinked her eyes as she saw the Andorian ship The IGS Aben th'Everek added to the mayhem caused on the Breen ship that had blasted away at the Paramount, and then move towards another target.

Another piece of information came to her console, "Commodore, I have just received word that the EExD Lucani have taken out their targets as well as the Ferengi ship of Grand Proxy Brek ship has taken out their targets. Word has also come that the Station is under attack by more Breen that have decloaked." Cade's heart was pounding at the news. "The station has taken damage, but the ships that have come into view are being attacked by those of our ships that are still near the station."

Tom cheered, noticeably excited by the move, however, his excitement was muted by the news of the station. "Contact the station, see if they need additional support," he told Cade. Turning to Ral, "I don't know what we can spare, but send a general message to the entire section. If there is a ship in the area, I want them at the station."

He didn't like leaving the station defenseless, he had to have faith that Cara could muster the troops and keep the station safe. He couldn't pull the Paramount and leave a hole in their defensive line. That would only open the station up to more attacks.

"For now we keep the line, take out as many of these bastards as we can, and then we defend the station," he stated to no one and everyone. "I know we all have loved ones back home, so we hold this position and keep more ships from getting to Poseidon."

Ensign Cade contacted the station and got word back. "Got communication back, the station is taking a pounding, part of the station has been breached, Lieutenant Valadorn is addressing that situation. but-" Cade paused as she looked at more information coming in. And her face lit up. "Reinforcements have arrived and are tearing into the Breen." then she looked back towards the command staff "Also a message from Commander Letsul, she said, Hold fast, do not waver."

"You heard the Commander," Tom nodded to the rest of the bridge, "hold fast and let's show these Breen what happens when you take on Posiedon."
