It was H'rarr's turn for the boys to experience his knowledge base. They seemed a bit tired but were eager to see what he could show them for his part.

"Sir what will you be showing us?" Donovan asked, "Captain Mum, I mean Captain Songbird, she says she has nicknamed you Dragon, sir."

" The Captain has indeed honored me and assigned my call sign to be dragon, I will live up to the ideals that the dragon stands for. Dragons are fierce defenders of their territories and absolute terrors to their enemies. But for today's training you will refer to me as Sergeant H'rar, Now follow me. "

With that said they walked down the corridor and H'rar accessed another room. Upon entry the room was dimly lit. " Activate range training with four UMA mark three phaser rifles. " He walked over and picked one up. " Take a seat cadets, your going to learn about a marines best friend, And once I'm done telling you about this weapon you will be trained in how to operate it, and if your good enough, I'll even activate the mini grenade launcher. " He said with a toothy grin.

"Really!" the boys yelled out with great enthusiasm. They were going to use some big guns and they were loving that idea.

"We've got a goal men." Donovan said to his brothers.

"And what is that?" Lucas exclaimed.

"Succeeding to use the grenade launchers!" Sean said with an ear to ear grin.

" Is that all it takes to motivate you? " H'rar asked. " If you listen well and do well on the firing range and score at least a sharpshooter score I will add a extra bonus for your efforts, I'll allow you to operate and fire the mounted version of the MK 440 gatling phaser. So who here thinks they can score an 85 or higher on the target range? Your targets will be scored from four to ten points and you'll shoot single shots at the target and empty a clip of ten rounds. You will fire only when I tell you to and the weapon will ALWAYS be pointed down range, anyone who points their weapon towards any living person will have their butts kicked. Do you understand? " He growled the question towards the boys. The look in his eyes let them know that he would not tolerate any breaches in safety protocols. "

The eyes of the triplets grew rather round at what H'rarr had spoken of, and they knew very well not to mess with this sort of equipment, even if they are on the holodeck. "Our mother has definitely made certain we know how not to act when it comes to weapons." Donovan spoke up, "It isn't a toy not at all."

" That is good to hear. " Said H'rar in a soft growl. " your mother is a good warrior and excellent leader, She didn't get her rank because she's good at desk duties. She has led her team charging into battle and kicked the butts of many federation enemies. Remember the moment you don't respect your weapon and treat it right, it will bite you and hurt you. That is why a marine always tends to and maintains his or her weapon and keeps it battle ready twenty four seven. "

H'rar picked up the trainer unit. " Alright Cadets!! " Said H'rar as he raised his voice. Pick up your weapon and rest it against your thigh lie this. " As he showed them the proper way of holding the weapon for loading. " Now pick up your power clip and slide it into the butt of the pistol grip and then give it a slap until you hear a audible click. Afterwards you will pull back the charging
handle and release it like so." H'rar watched their actions like a hawk and was satisfied with what he had observed.

" Computer, standard marine target range. Target distance fifty meters on power setting two. " Barked H'rar. " Donavan Sling your weapon over your shoulder and take firing lane number one, Lucas sling your weapon over your shoulder and take firing lane two. Sean sling your weapon and take firing lane three. " He watched as the boys followed his instructions.

H'rar walked over to lane four. and brought the weapon up to his shoulder. " ALL RIGHT CADETS NOW PAY ATTENTION!! " He gave them a side glance. " What I want to seeis this, Bring the weapon to your shoulder and pull it into your shoulder tight! Aim at the center of the target in the ten ring. Take a gentle breath and hold it, then depress the trigger stud in one smooth action. after the shot is fired, release your breath. do not jerk when you fire your shot or you'll send it wide of your mark. " H'rar nodded as he watched. " Alright Cadets. I want three practice shots from each of you. Don't rush your shots! First you learn to be accurate and then we'll add a faster rate of fire as you get better. " He watched the boys get into a firing stance. " Alright Cadets, Slow and steady. FIRE!! "

The first try, Donovan hit outside of where H'rar suggested. It did clip the edge of the target.

Sean almost had the right stance for the firing of the weapon, however it knocked him back the shot going wild.

Next was Lucas. He took his time breathing in, holding his breath then slowly pressed the trigger. He thought he was going to miss but to his surprise he hit!!! He even remembered to exhale. He looked towards his brothers. "I did it! I hit the center!" a huge grin just beaming with pride.

"That is brilliant!" Donovan said.

" Before we take our second shot I want to see your stance like this. "He said to the three cadets. He turned to Lucas. " Your form was spot on. Now I want to see your left leg forward and slightly bent. Your right leg at a forty five degree angle and kept straight, And rigid. What you two forgot to do was your breathing and pull that rifle into your shoulder tight. Now let's try that again. "

They all nodded and followed H'rar's instructions better. Lucas was a better shot his brothers did improve.

"Yes we hit the target!" they all cheered.

H'rar observed and commented. " Not to bad for rookies. " He lifted his rifle and placed five well aimed shots in a narrow pattern on the bullseye. " With time and practice you'll be able to shoot groupings like this. You still have much to learn, but you all show good promise to be future Marines. Your parents will be proud of you. Continue to work and train hard. " He said as words of encouragement.

"Okay thank you!" Lucas responded, and the same with Sean and Donovan.

A beep was sounded and over the commbadge came the voice of Brna. "Sergeant H'rar, it is time for the Cadets to return to homebase. "

The boys turned towards H'rar. "Thank you for showing us your side of things." all three in unison.

As what their mother had said, it was time to return to the Throneroom their day was almost over.

H'rar gave a toothy grin. " I don't think The Captain will be upset if I delay you for about five minutes. " He said. " Computer, add five shot grenade launchers to the cadet weapons and simulate a MK 440 gatling phaser as well. Also increase range to three hundred meters for targets.. " He turned and looked at the boys. " Well are you Cadets going to just stand there or are you going to use that ammo for what it's intended for? Afterwards you should return to your mother as best possible speed. "

With a shout of glee, the three boys did as what they were told.
