Timeline: MD 006 1800

K'doc departed the live gagh and went directly to Ops and chimed Cara's office door and awaited an answer. He looked down at the PaDD in his hand and was going over the talking points of what he believed needed to be discussed to get the ball rolling for this project, The benefits to the federation and her allies were numerous and couldn't be ignored and could save tens of thousands of lives. With that in mind he lowered the PaDD to collect his thoughts and ready himself for what is to come from this meeting.

"Enter!" called out and when K'doc stepped inside she looked up at him. "What can I do for you, K'doc?" Cara not bothering with rank at the moment. She rose from her chair and stepped away from her desk. "Might I get you some Raktajino? I of the mind to have some myself."

K'doc walked to the corner of the office and got a chair that he'd brought in for himself that wasn't so narrow and flimsy. A Raktajino sounds good, a large extra dark and extra strong, straight up and black. " He took a swig and waited until Cara sat down. " I just had a very interesting conversation with our Assistant Chief Operation Officer Yvette. As you well know, Starfleet intelligence R&D will be coming to pick up about seventy percent of the Breen technology for research purposes. "

K'doc took another swig of his beverage. " What she is suggesting is that we do our own research here and anything we find gets sent to Starfleet Intelligence as soon as possible via the black channel, for security purposes of course. I believe that this suggestion has merit and think it would be a wise move. We could learn to counter their weapons or even adapt them and use against them. Think of all the lives that could be saved. Not just federation, and it's allies as well. I know we would have to involve engineering and the science departments as well. What do you think of the suggestion? "

"I think that could be interesting to pursue, however I am a little bit concerned. Do you know if she had spoken about this to the Chief of Operations, who also is over the engineering department, Commander Jezka Joah? Granted she has taken upon herself to approach you, and is excited about working more and looking into the Breen tech we have at our disposal now. I would be interested in it just that, K'doc there are still protocols that need to be followed. " Cara stated.

K'doc stopped and thought briefly. " She hadn't mentioned one way or the other if she had spoken to her department head or not, that portion of the conversation wasn't brought up. I would assume that she brought it up before going on to involve others in the request, to be honest I was thinking about the lives that could be saved by such research. Even things in the empire are changing, all the newer ships are equipt with life pods unlike the ships from the past. The Empire realizes that they can't throw away the lives of warriors like in the old days. " He shook his head. " Everything is changing, now if it's for good or worse we shall see. If we are wise then the Federation and her Allies will benefit from this and emerge the stronger for it, or at least that is what I hope. "

Cara gave a nod at K'doc's comment, "I will be speaking to Commander Jezka in reference to that. If he is good with that, then it will happen. And it does seem like a practical idea as well. After all back at the NEC we did look at ancient tech and such to understand how it worked. I was in charge of that station, and worked with team that was there. For right now I am in charge of the station until we get Captain Harrington back. I have to certainly think over what could cause ripples and affect his command when he gets back. So we must tread carefully as we go on this pathway." Cara took a drink of her own raktajino, then lowered her mug. "We have so much going on right now, K'doc. With the murder of Jackson Porter and now the disappearance of Harrington." she set her mug down and leaned back in her chair.

K'doc nodded and stared into his mug of Raktajino and enjoyed the aroma for the moment. " I understand that you wish to be cautious, and there is nothing wrong with that. I do not understand what ripples could come from this research project. The more minds you have working on a problem, the more solutions you come up with to solve it. Your in charge and you know I have the utmost respect for you and I won't question you on this, but as far as I can see it is a win win situation for the federation and her allies. "

K'doc chuckled at Cara's statement. " we always have a lot going on, when don't we? We're the busiest station in the sector. " K'doc emitted a low growl as Cara mentioned Jackson Porter. " the only people that liked him were the ones that read his drivel and didn't personally know him. If they knew the real person who was a worthless piece of crap that he was and an arrogant ass, He'd be nowhere near as popular as he thought he was. Most people that knew him couldn't stand him. I know I didn't like him. I was ready to lock him up for Assaulting the Ambassador, but I was told to stand down. In hind sight, he'd most likely still be alive had I locked him up in the brig. at least his attacker wouldn't have been able to get to him then. "

Cara gave a nod "It was necessary at the time not to throw him into the brig K'doc. As for the ripples I am worried about, would be if someone were to catch wind of what is being done. Remember when the Breen first attacked, they were wanting the information that Aer had. I truly do not want another possible Breen attack to come about. Those are the ripple effects I am talking about. You are right, what tech we have of the Breen, will help us out in the long run maybe even give ourselves a little bit more of an insight as to what they are behind their suits." Cara answered.

" And all the more reason to research their weapons to find counters to them or at the very least neutralize them. We lost a total of one hundred and nine persons in that attack. That accounts for Security, Marines and Civilians aboard the station. With the research and knowledge that we gain from this project, then the next time we encounter the Breen in combat we shall not lose so many lives the next time around. " Said K'doc .

"As I said, you do have a point and you do have my permission." Cara remarked, wincing at the total of lives lost during the Breen Attack. She'd been doing sessions with those needing it, and coordinating with her Counseling staff attending to the mental wounds that had happened during the attack. "May you have success in this endeavor K'doc. Also, I want to give you fair warning and have your people ready. I am going to make an announcement of Jackson Porter's death. I feel that once I make that announcement, all hell is going to break loose. Its not going to be pretty." Cara closing her eyes for a moment, and rubbing her temple. "Its not going to be fun at all."

K'doc frowned. " Then I shall ask you to delay making the announcement until I can put both security departments and the marines on alert. If we have to march to quell a riot then we'll have to arm the troops with stun battons, stun grenades and phasers set for stun. We don't need anyone dying because some fool got himself killed, and don't worry about it to much. We'll only use the minimal amount of force required to control the situation. I'm sure we can take care of most of the trouble just by using the station's PA system and the sound of marching boots. That should take care of the majority of the people. " Stated K'doc.

"How much time do you need to prepare, I need to hold a new conference as I've got reporters and other officials wanting to know what is going on with Jackson Porter. Can you do this in two hours? With as much preparedness you had where the Breen is concerned, I feel you can get your people in readiness."

" Two hours? " K'doc thought briefly. " That should be more then enough time to prepare and have everyone ready for immediate deployment. We'll be able to lock down this station quickly enough." K'doc tapped his combadge. "Computer, send message to all security and marine personnel. Station emergency alert status one. All personnel will report to their duty stations and prepare for riot control. All personal will be in riot gear with phaser rifles set on stun. Stun batons and flash bang grenades will be issued to all troops. Go to your duty area and stand by for a transmitted briefing to your areas. This order comes directly from Ops command. Briefing will be in thirty, that is all for now." K'doc looked to Cara. " The clock is ticking and we'll be ready when you need us. Captain. "

Cara thought over things looking at the time, "Make it an hour and a half. I still have to prepare the speech. And that is going to be something fun to do... not...." she shook her head. "K'doc I am glad you are here as backup. And then we need to chase down suspects. So much to do and so little time to get it done. "

K'doc nodded to Cara. "An hour and a half is heard, We WILL be ready and in place at all critical areas and where large groups can congregate. Worst case
situation, is we have a bunch of people waking up with sore muscles and a headache. We will do what we can to safeguard lives and minimize damage to the station and interior structures. Perhaps in your speach you can remind them that we've had enough tragedy with the recent deaths from the Breen attacks." K'doc suggested.

"That is a good suggestion K'doc, I will endeavor to make certain to add that into the speech I will be making. Wish me luck, and good luck with your part,so much to do and too little time, right?" giving a determined nod her lips in a firmline. "Time to get things rolling."

K'doc's face was totally focused and his voice determined. " Captain Letsul, regardless how short time is or what the situation is, Security and the Marines will always be ready at a moments notice to protect the federation, it's citizens and our homes and interest from any and all threats. Now if you'll excuse me Captain, I have some work to take care of. "
