Mission: Mission 19: The Stuff of Nightmares
Location: Lieutenants bay nebula base

ON:

Liam had gone to bed and was thrashing around. Some force pulled him back to one of the darkest times he had experienced.

Reality

"Commander be careful," Liam prime said. The elation of rescue was being quickly replaced by fear and worry.

"Be quiet," MU Liam snapped at him. "In that case I hope you have a strong constitution," he indicated the MU version of the Vulcan his brothers mate. He made to stand up and a brief moment of confusion passed his features. "What are you?" he directed at the female. "Shes trying to block me."

"Trying? I'm succeeding." she laughed. "I am a Quenya, from Alcar. Naturally stronger than a betazoid, even more so than one with a disability," she smirked, taunting him.

Seklar just smiled, biding his time, watching this evil representation of the man he knew. His brief connection with his counterpart who apparently bonded with this evil's twin, was confusing and very disconcerting. Yet, his counterpart seemed adamant to protect his mate, one way or another. He could appreciate that and the twin was of no concern to him. "Counselor, please take the children and head back to our shuttle. I do not want them to witness any of this."

Liam was torn. He really did not want to leave either of his crew members with this twisted version of himself, especially Juni who ..... well she was special. He couldn't deny that in a short space of time she had become very special to him.

But Seklar was his XO, it was an order and the kids ultimately came first. They were innocent and really did not deserve any of this. He could sense Juni was concentrating hard trying to fend his MU counterpart off. "Come on kids," he complied holding on to them both tight …..


Nightmare

He hadn't got far out that room when the MU version of him had impaled something in their Seklars direction. Liam felt the shock and life drain out of him. "Run …." he uttered to the kids. "Go with the Gorn …….."

He started back ….. "Seklar … Juni …. " he said his insides crumbling. He made it back to the door only to see ….

"So you think I have a disability Quenya from Alcar. Let me put you straight," the twisted version of Liam Reynolds stepped forward and projected out a blast knocking her off her feet.

Junipyr gasped as she was tossed back, she slid in to a wall and stopped hard. Her concentration was shaken as a familiar and yet alien mind descended upon hers. She looked up and saw the man moving closer. She pushed herself up and glared at him, her silver eyes snapping with anger. She pressed in to his mind, but felt a mental blast come back at her. She gasped as pain jabbed in to her mind. She could only see starburts in her eyes. "Your mind is sick and twisted." she said as she shielded herself quickly and started to move to her feet. She had to fight long enough for Liam and the kids to get out this place.

"I wouldn't bother, hes already on his way back. Can sense your pain just like I can. He's refusing to leave you to my clutches."" MU Liam hissed. "So what are you to him?" he demanded pushing further into her mind to get a picture of just how useful she could be to him to keep his double in check.

Junipyr kept her mind in check, shielding herself hard, "I'm his security officer." she hissed. In that moment she felt the same question was decended upon Liam, and he couldn't help but reactivly answer. She could see the image that popped in to his mind of the two of them lounging next to his piano, circled in each others arms and whispering to each other.

"Oh oh oh this is delicious," MU Liam chuckled. "He's crazy about you. And here I thought the red headed doctor and the boy were the key to keep him doing whatever I needed but he doesn't know about that does he? Clearly the "mother" took that from him. So now you have his affections. And you pull back from him too."

Junipyr growled, "Its not that simple." she hissed. She couldn't do more with him like any other woman could, she pulled back frequently to protect them both. "And none of your business." she growled. ~Liam, what the hell are you doing? Get the hell out of here! I can't escape if you're rushing back!~ She hissed in to his mind.

She took a deep breath and used some of her mild telekinesis, knocking over a burning braiser, sending fire across some of the carpet. Distraction, the second it crashed she dashed for the door. They had to get out of here before this sicko really got his claws in her. He was more powerful than she thought he would be and they were in trouble.

The fire rose and swirled round her creating a wall about a metre away. "You cannot get away," MU Liam hissed as her Liam appeared at the door.

~I am NOT leaving you to his clutches~ he projected back.

"You want to protect him. He wants to protect you, both of you a little scared... no a lot scared …" he said evilly …… turning to Liam he said … "What can you do?"

Liam felt his counterpart in his head, holding him place again like when he had to send a communication to the "empress". He knew he was powerless. But if Juni was to suffer he would dam well suffer there with her. Did she not get it that they were in this together now?

~Liam... what have you done?~ she cried in his mind front behind the flames. She could see his face through the flickering, the heat of the fire making the skin on her face flush and dry quickly. It stung at its intensity. ~You have to live, or my life and death means nothing!~ she whispered in to his mind before she shifted her attention to how the hell they were going to get out of this.

"You know …." MU Liam continued. "There are actual ways to break that bond your so frightened of will kill you if it doesn't pan out. Our universe have more sophisticated techniques than yours. How else would I a hybrid betazoid be able to overpower you?" he directed at them both.

Both of them heard him laugh in their head and utter one word …… "askatasuna"

Juni felt Liam react to the word, but it left her in confusion. Unable to stand this she backed up a few steps and ran right towards the fire. If she was fast she could get through it without getting a burn, if she did get burnt it was better than standing there helpless. She jumped in the air while sending a mental blast towards MU Liam to break his concentration on the fire and her Liam. ~Run Damn it!~ she growled at her Liam, hoping the distraction worked long enough to free him.

Her Liam grabbed her hand and pulled her with him. The other Liam seemed to freeze in place. ~You know if thats true maybe you need to stop worrying about taking things further and just bite the bullet~ He commented on her earlier words. ~We don't need any askatasuna~

~We need to talk about that later, now is NOT the time to talk about bonding!~ she chided him as she ran with Liam.

They successfully fled the room and down a corridor but going through the next door found themselves in the same room. Fire blazing and his evil counterpart staring at them.

~Do you really think you can escape me?~ he demanded.

"Shit" Junipyr growled. She gripped his hand harder and ran back the way they came, trying to find a different route. She turned left rather than right and felt a wash a relief when she saw a door that looked like the air lock. She speed up, dragging Liam now. The doors opened up and they were faced with the fire again. She let out a stronger swear and left her hand up blasting him with mental power, trying to knock him out, or wring his mind out. ~This may kill me, but its the only shot we have.~

"You cannot strike me down," Evil Liam appeared in the airlock and merely laughed at her.
