Girls just wanna have fun

Kiyo looked at Audie, and Maisy and said. "Well now lets get onto our next part of our revelry, weren't we going to go to the spa or get something to eat? Or were we going to try to rescue that author?" giving an ear to ear grin.

"Or it looks like we're going to be doing the Congo or is it conga?" Kiyo feeling her hands being taken by some people who were in a rather festive mood, and dancing music was blaring from a local band.

The Conga line was starting to grow, different people were being swept into the dance, some refusing to be a part of it others were getting into the swing of it.

"How about we conga our way to the door and go from there?" Audie suggested as she was swept up into the dance. You couldn't help but smile, nor resist the rhythm of the line of revelers, so it was best just to go with the flow!

Chiva had just stopped by for a drink and to watch the interaction between the patrons at the bar. As she made her way to the bar a conga dance line had formed and she was reluctantly pulled in with a startled " Wait! What?? " escaping from her lips. The PaDD that was in her hands went flying somewhere into the conga line and she had very little hope of recovering it intact. Just then she heard " Girls there's an opening, to the Arboretum!" With that said she followed the group of ladies out and to the arboretum.

A miracle had happened, emboldened by the presence of author Jackson Porter on the Station - yes she was an absolute fan and she hoped to collect his autograph - Jae had ventured on the Station, well beyond the science department. She had no specific plans in mind, but she had already consumed two cocktails (vodka lime and soda was definitely a weakness) and her brain was no longer very sharp. She reached an area where an awful lot of people were gathered, and all of them were dancing. She had seen this sort of ‘activity’ before, among students. A horrible conga line had formed and was moving towards her. Jae tried her best to escape from that ‘monster’ but she wasn’t swift enough and someone grabbed her hand. Within moments she was in the line, dragged away by the revellers.

Kiyo found herself locked into part of the dance then she noticed a exit point. "Girls there's an opening, to the Arboretum!" she called out.

This seemed like an excellent plan, and Jae decided to follow the little group going to the arboretum.

"What are those people celebrating, does anyone know?" Jae asked the women around her.

"Well now, it seems that a famous Author is on the station and people are just wanting to get a look at him, even from afar and they are celebrating just that fact. Well and also its nice to see people let loose just a little bit after that Breen attack we had dealt with." Kiyo giving a slight shudder. She paused as she noticed a woman nearby.

"Hi there, I'm Kiyo, are you new to the station?" Kiyo giving a wave to the blonde woman who had her hair pulled back in a ponytail. (Eden)

"My name is Jae. I'm a recent addition to the science department." The Korean woman said, with as much levity as if she was Vulcan. "I can understand how people would want to party after what happened with the Breen.” She looked at the women gathered near Kiyo. “So, you are all on the Promenade to have... fun, or to get a glimpse at Jackson Porter? I went to his book signing event earlier on, but he never turned up..."

Chiva stumbled into the Arboretum looking flustered. " Thank the Gods I'm out of that mess. I prefer doing my social studies from a distance, not being swept up into it. " She said.

"Definitely fun that does not involve Jackson Porter." Maisy rolled her eyes. "I've never understood the need to gawk at famous people. I have found more interesting people in some of the dreariest places even on this station."

Chiva looked up, her brows knitted close together. " Jackson Porter? Who is he? Is he a federation diplomat or scientist perhaps? " She asked sincerely. Not knowing who Maisy was speaking about.

Skipping along behind the others, Audie was happy just to 'go with the flow', and follow wherever they led. She was having a good time, in a quiet, sort of zen sort of way, not that she'd hold back if things got rowdy!

"So, why'd Porter not show up for his book signing?" she asked, not particularly caring, but it seemed odd that he wouldn't be there. "He's an author," she added to Chiva, "writes...stories."

Jae shrugged. “Maybe it’s a publicity stunt. Famous people do that at times, as a way to get even more attention.”

Eden entered the arboretum and looked entirely confused but also pensive. But perhaps she always looked this way. She had no idea why all these people were here and was simply stumbling around the station trying to get her bearings. Obviously she'd stumbled into something important. "What's going on?" She asked without introducing herself first.

Chiva smiled. " So I am to assume that he's a fiction writer? " Chiva asked. " Not the type of holonovels that I'm into. So I guess that's why I've never heard of him before. " Chiva turned towards the newcomer. " Are you here to escape the rowdiness at the bar? If so, your more then welcome to join us here. " She said to Eden.

“Nobody knows what’s going on,” Jae added. “Is there a plan of sorts to follow? Someplace we can all decide to go to?”

"That is what we were deciding before we got swept up in the conga line" Kiyo replied, with a laugh. "Right now, while we are in a quiet place, how about we introduce ourselves and go from there? My name is Kiyo, my family name is Rugasi. I work for the Chief diplomat, Commander Raphael Mattix. Who is next in introducing themselves?" giving a friendly smile.

"Eden," she replied. "I just got here, to the station I mean. And sure, Might as well make friends while the sun shines, or was that make hay? I'm never sure. I only saw hay once, on this planet my parents dragged me to. There was a little farming community which probably would have been interesting to see but that wasn't what they were there for and they ended up dragging me through the woods chasing some kind of alien marsupial, I don't even remember the name of it."

Audie laughed, thinking that this was going to be a fun group, especially once they got going. "Audie Fitch." She gave a sort of sweeping bow. "I'm a medic with the Kingsmen...the station's Marine division. Looking forward to an evening of fun entertainment!"

Chiva smiled warmly. " I am Doctor Chiva Abasi, I work in The station and run my own office and specialize as the stations OB/GYN. So if any of you ladies are in need of such services, then please feel free to call upon me. "

Jae found herself bowing slightly after every introduction. She had seen Eden, of course in the science department. What she had never seen though, was an alien marsupial and she couldn’t help wondering about that. “I’m Jae and I’m with science. Maybe we should take a vote on where we would like to go?” There were so many places she didn’t want to even approach, like the Live Gagh Restaurant, or The Drunken Fish. Where food was concerned, it had to be rice or noodles, or she was likely to get sick. “I quite like the idea of going to the... “ she was going to say relaxation clinic, but of course, that wasn’t fun enough. “The Casino.” She nodded her head to convince herself that it was a great idea. What could be more bright and cheerful than that?

Chiva looked up at Jae. " I've not been to a casino before, so it does sound like an experience worth trying. Shall we eat before we go there? If so I could suggest the Big Easy. It is a New Orleans style restaurant which has excellent food, drinks that will knock your socks off and desserts to die for. But if we do wind up going to a casino, I am going to have to rely upon someone with knowledge about the proper way to play for a beginner. "

Jae smiled, and tried to look confident. “I’m not an expert either, I think we should first walk around the casino and soak up the atmosphere, and then decide where to play. After we’ve eaten that is.”

"That sounds like something fun to do." Kiyo remarked to the others.

Brianthe Oaxaca, hearing the arrival of what sounded like a party, slipped out from the workroom to see what was going on. "What's the occasion," she asked the group of women who'd stopped to talk.

"Hi there!" Kiyo greeting the newest arrival. "Well we're talking about going somewhere to have some fun. Its been crazy here so, why not let off some steam. Currently we are introducing ourselves. Like say for instance. Maisy, why not tell the others what you do here on the station. Then we'd like to find out about you." Looking towards Brianthe.

"At this rate they'll call security on us if we have too much fun." Maisy said looking at the size of the group growing. "Not that I have any problems causing a little mayhem." a devilish glint in her eye.

"You don't have to worry as much about security if you invite them along," Brianthe suggested. "I'm sure some of them would love to let their hair down--literally or figuratively." At least it generally worked for her.

Chiva asked a question that had been on her mind for the last several minutes. " So do we have any other plans after getting something to eat and the Casino? " She asked. There's a lovely japanese bath house on deck 70 and a Spa and massage parlor on the promenade as well, That may be a good way to wind up the evening. "

Kiyo looked at Eden, then to the others, "What do you think about those suggestions that Chiva had made. They sound great."

"Doesn't the Casino serve food?" Eden asked. "I mean the ones on Earth do. Not that it's the best tasting option but it is convenient." She gave a small shrug. "But whatever you guys want to do is totally fine." People often thought her odd, not that she cared. But it did sometimes make finding friends hard.

"A spa sounds great," Brianthe added. As long as she'd been included, she might as well contribute. "Or do you prefer dancing?"

"You are right, Casino's do serve food. And dancing sounds great. There is a casino here on the station. And we can find place to dance, so much is offered on this station." Kiyo replied.

Chiva smiled. " Well if Casino's have food and dance clubs and we follow up with a spa afterwards, then I think we have a plan for the night." she said.

Jae nodded her head, she was unlikely to be talkative, but she would follow the group, including to the spa if they went to the Japanese bath house. Unfortunately, as fate would have it, minutes later she received an urgent call from her lab; and with multiple bows to apologise, she left the arboretum in all haste.

Kiyo watched as Jae disappeared and looked at the others "Well onwards we go."
